=================================
1) So-and-so(誰それ)
=================================
So-and-so は「誰それ」を意味する表現で、名前をはっきり示さずに人や物を指す時に使われます。一般的には人やお店の名前に対して使われ、不特定な名前やあえて名前を出したくない場合、もしくは単に名前を忘れた時に使われます。
<例文>
Let’s say, so-and-so was good looking but had a bad personality.
(例えば、誰それは格好いいけど、性格が悪かったとしましょう。)
He said he met so-and-so at the party last night and apparently they hit it off.
(彼は昨晩のパーティーで誰かと会って、意気投合したらしいよ。)
I don’t want to mention his name but Mr. so-and-so is such a jerk.
(名前は言いたくないけど、誰それは本当に嫌な奴だ。)
=================================
2) Ruin(台無しにする)
=================================
Ruinは本来「破壊」を意味する単語ですが、日常会話では「台無しにする」や「ダメにする」の意味としてよく使われます。誰かが秘密を漏らしてサプライズパーティーを台無しにしたり、雨が降って1日の計画がダメになったり、相手を裏切って関係を壊したり、パソコンを落としてハードドライブを壊したりなど、幅広く使える便利なフレーズです。
<例文>
The coronavirus really ruined everything this year.
(コロナウイルスのせいで今年は本当に全てが台無しになったね。)
It was pouring the entire week and it ruined our trip.
(1週間ずっと大雨で私たちの旅行は台無しでした。)
That’s disgusting! That ruined my appetite.
(気持ち悪いよ!食欲なくなっちゃったよ。)
=================================
3) Meaning behind(〜の裏にある意味)
=================================
Behind は「後ろ」や「裏」を意味することから、 meaning behind は「〜の裏にある意味」を表します。「人の言葉の裏にある意味」は meaning behind someone’s words、「夢に潜む意味」はmeaning behind dreams、「映画の裏にある意味」はmeaning behind a movieのように表します。
<例文>
What do you think the meaning behind this movie is?
(この映画に潜む意味はなんだと思いますか?)
I believe that there is a meaning behind every dream.
(私は全ての夢には何か意味が隠されていると思います。)
That is a cryptic message. I wonder what the meaning behind it is.
(不可解なメッセージですね。何が言いたんだろう。)
=================================
4) I see what you did there(あなたのやったことはわかりました)
=================================
この表現は、相手が駄洒落や言葉遊びをしたことに「気づいたよ!」と言う時に使われます。例えば、今日の会話でクリスチャンがダニエルに対して「I see what you did there.」と言いましたが、これはダニエルが意図的にクリスチャンがイラっとするフレーズを会話で使い、クリスチャンはそれがジョークだと気づいたことを表します。
✔また、逆に自分がダジャレや言葉遊びをして、相手に「今のダジャレ分かった?」と尋ねるときは「You see what I did there?」 と言うこともよくあります。
<例文>
I see what you did there. That was a witty remark.
(今の言葉遊び分かりましたよ。ウィットの効いた返答でしたね。)
Ichiro hit a home run? Ah, I see what you did there.
(イチローが成功したって?あ〜、なるほどね。)
Did you see what I did there? I know it’s a terrible dad joke but I couldn’t help it.
(今の冗談分かった?ひどい親父ギャグなのは分かってるけど、どうしても言いたくて。)
=================================
5) I'm guilty of(やってはいけないことをする)
=================================
Guiltyを「有罪の」や「罪を犯した」の意味で覚えている人も多いと思いますが、日常会話ではもっと軽い意味合いで用いられ、be guilty ofはやってはいけないとわかっていてもついやってしまう行為や悪い癖を表す際に使われます。暴飲暴食は体によくないと分かっているのについついやってしまったり、ダメなことだとわかっているのに物事を先延ばしにしてしまうような行為が、その例です。
<例文>
I’m guilty of slacking off. Sometimes I just don’t feel like studying English.
(私は怠けてしまいます。時々英語の勉強をする気分にならないんですよね。)
I’m guilty of taking things for granted too. We have to be grateful for everything.
(私も物事を当たり前だと思ってしまうことがあります。全てのことに感謝しないといけないですね。)
I’m guilty of eating late at night. Sometimes I just crave a nice bowl of ramen before I sleep.
(私は夜遅くに食べてしまうことがあります。時々、寝る前においしいラーメンが食べたくなるんですよね。)

#DepressionIsNotAJoke
"DEPRESSION IS NOT A JOKE"
•At my first glance at the photo the first thing i have noticed is the word "depression" and it is the first word that catches my attention as i look at these photo.
The written text "depression is not a joke" which have different colors. Black for "DEPRESSION" Red for "IS NOT" and also "A JOKE" which is the smallest among those words that are written in the photo.
•Have a second look, do you see it? Behind those green background you will see an image. At first you will not notice the image unless you focus and you will see what is "depression behind depression" (Literally, you can see there word depression and an image of a depressed person behind it)
The image of a person sitting behind that green background also emphasizes that, some people with depression won't show any signs, they will hide how they are feeling, it indicates that they are ashamed or it's weak and afraid and do all they can to hide and pretend everything is okay.
Depression has no face at all, the image behind the green background is the meaning of depression.
And the words that are being not properly arrange has a connection to the real meaning of depression, because depression is a mood disorder that causes much feeling of sadness and loss of interest and affect how you feel, think or behave and can lead to emotional and physical problems.
That's why the words are disarranged.
•Have you seen the word "A JOKE"? I have mentioned earlier that it is the smallest among the words, why? Because, most people won't notice it unless you look closely.
The fact that they didn't understand and they don't see it as a big issue, and this is something that they can joke about.
The whole photo has taught us what depression is. Some people don't even realise the impact of making fun of depression because in their head they are not taking it seriously.
Just like what happened recently in our group making fun of depression without knowledge about what really is the meaning of depression and how it will affect to those people, and connection to the photo we need to be fucos and take it seriously, because we will not find the real meaning of it, unless we will think and know the real meaning just like what we are doing in having an "interpretation"
Just like the word "A JOKE" as you can see in the image it is small right? But how come that a small word would cause a great impact if we will just ignore it, and as you can see it has a shadow there is a dark side behind it.
•Over all, it is a serious problem, people need to be educated about mental health problems, without it people would just make fun and making it as a joke.
•Unlike the image behind the green background, we need to take part Stand Up and Fight Back. We should respect their feelings if they are having depression.
People should be taught to Respect mental issues.
•And the people that are making jokes about it contributes to the harm and suffering of people who are experiencing that kind of situation.

I hope you read my entry 😊💕 It takes time for me to think about it and lots of error at first, but i hope you truly understand the real meaning. That are all my knowledge regarding on depression and my interpretation on the photo..😊 All needs to be educated as well this is the best way for the people who don't know about depression to learn something.
God bless you all💕

💬美國生活用語:Corn玉米🌽
1⃣corn-fed
2⃣ pee/piss in sb.’s cornflakes
3⃣ corny
4⃣ cornball
--
Corn is a grain with a special place in the hearts of Americans. First introduced to early settlers by the Indians, it has since become a staple of the American diet, used to make everything from popcorn and muffins to corn chips and corn syrup. Naturally, corn has become part of our language as well.
玉米在美國人心中是種特別的榖物。一開始是由印地安人介紹給最早的一批移民者,自此之後成為美國的重要主食之一,玉米可以用來作成各式各樣的食物,從爆米花、瑪芬、玉米片到玉米糖漿皆可見。理所當然地,玉米也成為英語語言的一部分。
Driving though the Midwest, you’ll pass by endless fields of corn, which is eaten by animals and people alike. The adjective1⃣ “corn-fed” is used to describe animals fed or fattened with corn, i.e. “corn-fed hogs.” What about people? If you call someone corn-fed, it means they look plump, well-fed and robust. Ex: Several corn-fed Midwesterners tried out for the football team. When describing people and places, corn-fed can also mean unsophisticated and provincial. Ex: Karen grew up in a small, corn-fed Kansas town.
只要開車經過美國中西部,你一定會路過一望無際的玉米田,這是種植給動物與人類吃的。形容詞corn-fed就是用來形容以玉米餵食或增肥的動物,如corn-fed hogs(玉米豬)。那人呢?如果你說某人是corn-fed,其實是說這人看起來豐潤、吃得很好、容光煥發,如:Several corn-fed Midwesterners tried out for the football team.(好幾位厚實健壯的中西部人前來參加美式足球隊選拔。)corn-fed如果用來敘述人或地方,也可以指「未經世事、天真的」以及「守舊狹隘的」,如:Karen grew up in a small, corn-fed Kansas town.(凱倫在堪薩斯州的一個守舊的小村落長大。)
Cornflakes are a popular American breakfast, and if someone peed in them, you’d be pretty mad, right? 2⃣That’s exactly what “pee/piss in sb.’s cornflakes means. Ex: Gee, I wonder who peed in the manager’s cornflakes today.
玉米片是非常受歡迎的美國式早餐,如果有人在上面撒尿,你一定會抓狂吧!這就是pee/piss in sb.’s cornflakes的意思。如:Gee, I wonder who peed in the manager’s cornflakes today.(老天,不知道今天是誰惹毛了經理。)
Since corn is such a simple and common type of food, can you guess what the 3⃣ adjective “corny” means? If a joke, story or song is corny, it’s silly, trite or overly sentimental. Ex: Dad always tells such corny jokes. 4⃣ The adjective “cornball” has the same meaning. Ex: Martin has such a cornball sense of humor. And it can also be a noun. Ex: Martin is such a cornball.
既然玉米是如此簡單又常見的食物,你可以猜猜看 corny 是什麼意思呢?如果有個笑話或故事是 corny 的,就是在說它們是「愚蠢、老套且濫情的」,如:Dad always tells such corny jokes.(老爸老是喜歡講這種老掉牙的笑話。)cornball 當形容詞也有一樣的意思,如:Martin has such a cornball sense of humor.(馬丁的幽默感實在有夠老掉牙。)也可以直接當名詞使用,如:Martin is such a cornball.(馬丁真是個愛講冷笑話的人。)
