If you don't mind the wait, this Roti Canai Kayu Arang is actually worth trying. We thought it would be gimmicky but it turned out that the roti canai indeed tasted good, especially the Roti Nanchos they were viral-ed for. While waiting, order a plate of nasi lemak kukus, not bad at all.

Roti Canai Kayu Arang di Melaka memang terkenal. Tanya sahaja sesiapa di Melaka, mana tempat untuk pergi sarapan pagi, tentu ramai yang akan cadangkan gerai Roti Canai Kayu Arang ini. Tempat ini terletak sebelum simpang ke Bachang, iaitu simpang sebelum jambatan Melaka Sentral dan Tesco.
Walaupun harga kayu arang tinggi, mereka masih mengekalkan cara tradisional memasak roti canai di sini. Roti canai yang dimasak dengan menggunakan kayu arang sebagai bahan api lebih harum, lembut dan cukup menyelerakan. Rasanya unik juga.
Antara roti yang terkenal di sini termasuk, Roti Nanchos - RM6, Roti Tampal Dangdut - RM2 dan Roti O’ - RM0.80.

Bahan-bahan yang diletak di dalam Roti Nanchos termasuk ayam, 2 jenis cheese, bawang, capsicum merah dan hijau, dan sayur kobis ungu. Roti ini sedap dan agak seimbang kerana ada ayam dan sayur. Jika anda minat roti nanchos ini, kenalah tunggu sikit sebab selepas roti ini digoreng, ia dimasukkan ke dalam oven untuk habis masak.
Roti Tampal Dangdut pula, dua biji telur separuh masak ditampal ke atas roti kosong. Nama ‘Dangdut’ tu kerana telur kuning itu boleh digoyang. Ia seakan-akan macam menari.
Selain roti canai, banyak lagi makanan di sini. Nasi Lemak Kukus dengan telur goreng - RM2 mereka bagus juga. Bau nasi lemaknya harum. Sambalnya juga pedas.

Ingredients put in Nanchos Bread include chicken, 2 types of cheese, onions, red and green capsicum, and purple cabbage. This bread is delicious and quite balanced because it has chicken and vegetables. Dangdut Paste bread, two half-cooked eggs are paste on empty bread. The name 'Dangdut' is because the egg yolk can be twisted. It's like dancing.
