【濟州(三)|冬攀韓國之巔-漢拏山,OK容易】

今次行程重點,就是爬漢拏山。
作為韓國最高點,海拔1950公尺,跟你說出發前不期待,肯定是假的。但人到濟州之後,卻開始擔心期望會變成失望,因為從下飛機開始,這裡都好像沒有在大肆宣傳這個本應是很好賣的景點,直到走登山口前的一刻,也完全沒有營造到你即將要攀一國之巔的氛圍。
國家之巔,登過日本富士山,日本人的那些Marketing就不多說了,厲害到你就算只是去過五合目那個登山口,也好像已在富士山百轉千迴了。也登過馬來西亞的神山,沒那麼多花臣,但起碼你進了國家公園那範圍,由領隊到負責你食住的工作人員,就說沒說出口,眼神都像在跟你說「你即將要攀的可是神山啊!」。
不過有些事還是自己走一遍才體會得到。攀完之後,才覺得漢拏山的那種低調,合理啊!
漢拏山的登山口有多條登山路線,但能上到山頂白鹿潭的,就只有城坂岳和觀音寺兩條路線。攀雪山經驗不多,當然是要挑傳聞比較易的那條城坂岳線。的確,路線不難,官方說單程要走4.5小時,來回的話,8小時內完成絕對可行,加上沿途也welly鋪ed,可以想像如果是春夏天來走,難度可能跟北潭坳走到鹹田灣差不多,也難怪韓國人都把漢拏山當成一條合家歡路線,完全沒有一國之巔的氣勢。
今次唯一的難度,可能就在冰雪。熱帶地區長大,一生只有那幾次爬雪山的經驗,走在結了冰的山路上,花了一段時間才學懂怎樣平衡和用力。還好一向是裝備L,一早就買了在香港根本沒有機會用到鞋套冰爪 (不要慳,如果你要來冬攀,請一定要買),加上起步的那一段路都相對平緩,這樣一路走來,是有點跣,但只要慢慢習慣下來,總算能穩穩的一步一步走。
如果有看過Into The Thin Air (旅行撚一定看過的Into The Wild作者另一本著作,後來改編成電影Everest),都知下山出意外的機會比上山大得多。上山容易下山難這個大道理,你知我知官方都知。所以為避免大家抓不到最後下山的安全時間,官方在杜鵑花田避難所設了個check point,除了有廁所有小賣機等讓你休息及補充物資外,如果你在當天的指定時間還未能到達這裡,管理員就會在那裡請你掉頭,禁止你繼續爬登頂的最後那條路。
我們那天的掉頭時間是13:00,我們大概08:30出發,約12:00就到了這個check point,成功達陣,而穿過避難所,就是最後直路。果然,最後直路也真的有夠「直」,全是直不甩的石路和樓梯,不過這段路不長,加上人極多,慢慢跟著走,大概30分鐘,沒有索大氣,就不知不覺的來到了韓國最高點。
眼前就只有一個冰封了的白鹿潭及那個很多人在排隊打卡,標示你在山頂的牌,然後就甚麼都沒有了。
或許漢拏山太高了,從這裡看下去,所有東西都變得太小,加上冰冷的天氣,與眼底下的城市更添疏離,觀感上反而沒有了昨天登瀛洲山後那種居高臨下的磅礡。反倒是沿路下山時,天氣驟變,雨雪夾雜,令路上更滑更跣,那一步一驚心的步步為營,今天回想起來,更讓人難忘。
「噢。到咗。」去到山頂時不會異常激動,上上落落時不會呻辛苦,悶又不是,精彩又說不上,總之就是沒有失望,也沒有驚喜。
早就說了,濟州甚麼都剛剛好,漢拏山,其實也很配合到這個Vibe。

太陽能與野生動物能否和平共處?選址施工前得做足功課! (03/25/2019 TechNews科技新報)

在太陽能廠落成後,先前受施工影響離開的動物們會回來嗎?美國建築公司 RP Construction Services 深入研究後發現答案是正面的,且大型太陽能電廠更可成為植物與動物的避難所,保護棲息地並維持生物多樣性。
隨著太陽能製造與安裝成本愈來愈低,太陽能產業近年來快速成長,2018 年全球太陽能新增裝置量更首度破100GW,只不過在發展的同時,也不能忽略背後的環境衝擊,已有不少人擔心太陽能施工期間以及施工後對野生動物、植物生態等影響。
再加上太陽能成本效益比與裝置規模成正比,1KW 的太陽能發電系統大約需要占地 7~9 平方公尺,而現在公用事業太陽能電廠動輒百萬瓦,影響範圍想必又更廣。
對此,RPCS 市場負責人 Bri Bruce 認為不必太過擔心,他們發現太陽能廠完工後,當地的黑尾傑克兔、鈍鼻豹蜥、敏狐、叉角羚等野生動物已陸續回歸。Bruce 表示,雖然太陽能廠建設過程中會產生噪音、整地、二氧化碳排放與土壤侵蝕等短期環境損害,但這類建設的破壞性遠都比傳統發電廠或是煤炭能源開採還要低。
Bruce 認為在選址與裝設太陽能系統時,都必須要詳細調查與評估潛在環境影響,尋求當地經驗豐富的生物專家與地質調查員,並為野生動物提供減緩區(mitigation area),畢竟太陽能的鏡面反射都有可能會影響野生動物與鳥類的視線。
就像台灣的太陽能發展優先選用鹽灘、地層下陷區域等地,Bruce 表示,棕地、垃圾掩埋廠等被棄置的工業或商業用地,也是發展太陽能的適合地點,且也可以裝設在斜坡上以避免整地對環境的影響。
太陽能不影響植披生長
若擔心太陽能建設會影響植物生態,先前美國國家再生能源實驗室、阿貢實驗室環境科學部門等團隊研究也指出,植物會重新生長且可有效控制土壤侵蝕、再造動物棲息地。其中阿貢國家實驗室更致力於打造「授粉者友善太陽能(pollinator-friendly solar power)」,希望可在電廠內種植蜜源植物等,藉此恢復授粉昆蟲的生態,同時幫助臨近農田作物授粉、提升產量。
而在太陽能電廠落成後,基本上就沒有任何環境影響因素了,太陽能板發電時不會產生噪音、污水、碳排放,相較之下燃煤發電廠每 MWh 會產生 1,100 加侖的廢棄水,核能與天然氣發電廠則分別為 800 加侖與 300 加侖。
顯然目前來看即使野生動物或是植物生態受到太陽能建設波及,施工完成後該生態圈還是會漸漸復原,但最主要還是得仰賴施工方法、事前評估與是否有做好相對應的緩衝空間,若功課沒做足或是貿然動工,生態系也難以恢復,再生能源也無法成為「綠色」產業。
而不管是發展太陽能還是離岸風電等綠能,選址、施工方法、環境影響都是重要考量,現在也有不少學者在研究離岸風電對海洋生態的影響,國際分子多樣性保護組織(MDPI)先前便指出,北歐斯堪地納維亞海域的海底基樁已經漸漸變成人造珊瑚礁,吸引大量以浮游生物為食的魚類,鯨豚也會因為魚群而聚集,並自成另一種生態圈。
