姜芽紙包蝦 Seasonal Pickled Young Ginger with Paper Wrapped Prawns HKD $62. This item at Luk Yu shocked me over 1 of my recent visits for Yum Cha dim sum.. I trust them for their traditional recipes usually, but this time was a very odd occasion. In the past, 紙包蝦/紙包雞 means either its fried with a totally edible Pastry outside (an already extinct recipe in HK which also existed here at Luk Yu for many years even up til 2018 from memory, but u can find overseas still in Cantonese restaurants), or it's baked in Parchment paper En Papillote style. This time it came with a fried thick batter coating instead 😮 3rd Wave 紙包蝦? Pls bring back the old recipe 🤣🤣😐
