FINDING MEANING IN A PORTRAIT 💕
Having come back from our wedding planning trip in Phuket, it finally feels like the rubber has hit the road. Planning my own wedding after having photographed and experienced with all my brides so many weddings, is a whole lot more than pure logistics.
All my life (and especially all my wedding photographer life), I have rehearsed this season of life more than a million times in my mind, and lived it hundreds of times vicariously through my brides. But like all the most significant moments in life, no amount of rehearsing prepares you for the real deal.
I have always believed in the power of portraiture (which is why I started @belovedbyjp), but never in my life have I felt it more strongly.
This #engagedlife is so precious, and yet I know that it will slip by like sand through my fingers. I don’t think I will ever find the right words to express my emotions, but this portrait of who I am, right here right now, will remind me how I cherished these fleeting moments.
I want to feel beautiful, I want to feel real, but most of all, I want to remember ‘jada’ on 9 September 2018 – 132 days before my wedding day.
Thank you to my ever-supportive fiancé (who also took this portrait of me), who embraces all my passions and visions in life as his own, whilst protecting me as I run towards my dreams with my heart hanging on my sleeve, so that I can seemingly ‘do it all’.
