"Got the phone number" 2015/10/4
After got the Free SIM card from giffgaff, you should active your SIM card so that you can have a phone number. However, before, you active it, you may need register and top up (at least 10 pounds) your account. If you don't have the free SIM card, you could get it online, or you can get it from your agent who apply the university for you like UKEAS, they may have free SIM card. But be careful, there are different size SIM card, you should check your phone to avoid getting wrong SIM card.
After active it, you could choose different type of goodybags for SIM cards only user, then you could compare the detail of it, then choose one type of goodybags, it could use for a month, after, you should buy the other goodybags for the next month. If your phone cannot connect the network, you may need set your phone, the detail can also find on the giffgaff's page.

在出發前往英國前，就已經和留學代辦(UKEAS)拿了免費的giffgaff SIM卡，當然也可以自己上giffgaff的網站拿，或者到英國在選擇其他電信公司。由於在台灣用台灣的信用卡儲值會有手續費，因此我選擇到英國再去wiko(類似生活百貨的地方)買儲值序號，由於要active SIM卡最少要儲值10磅，因此我先買了10磅，當然也可以選擇一次買多一點，之後省得再去買。
拿到儲值序號後就可以上giffgaff網站active SIM卡，active後，giffgaff會用簡訊給你電話號碼，然後就可以選擇goodybag( 不要選到gigabag，那是電腦平板用的)，接著就可以有網路跟簡訊、通話服務，但如果沒辦法上網，可以在網站上找到自己的手機設定方式，不同廠牌的手機有不同的設定，上面都有教學影片。
由於giffgaff一次是買一個月的服務，若是使用了快一個月，就差不多要買下個月的方案，可以選擇不同方案，也可以利用帳戶自動扣款，但需要有英國的credit card or debit card. 用台灣的信用卡是無法刷過的。
