A BBQ to Bring People Together「一起來個聚會吧」
AND THAT'S A WRAP FROM THE BBQ EVENT TODAY!
It was such a pleasure to meet all of you today, and it was twice as pleasurable to see the turnout, despite the drizzles we had earlier. You had no idea, but it meant so, so much to us. Thank-you for bringing food, drinks, and most importantly, yourselves!!
This event wasn't about SHOOT AND CHOP. No, not at all.
The whole theme of this event was to bring people together for a good time - no matter who you are, where you're from, what you did, as long as you love... people (yes, just quoted Backstreet Boys lyrics, lol)
One barbecue will not spur any radical changes or break any barriers - no, there's a long way to go in that regard. But one thing is for certain though, it brought us together (no matter how big or small our group was) for a chillage and a chance to bond with people.
Community segregation, discrimination and racism only happen when people from different cultures of different languages do not understand one another. But once we do, we see much greater things in people, instead of just our cultural/ethnic differences.
At the end of the day, we are all the same - human beings.
Once again, thank-you for coming out.
It seems like we should do more of these events in the future...
