The Red Sea opened for the children of Israel just as their enemies were about to catch up with them.
The Lord saved Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego after they were pushed into the fiery furnace.
Daniel was saved after being cast into the lion’s den for a night.
Jairus’ daughter was raised after she had died.
A dead man was raised to life when his corpse touched Elisha’s bones.
Lazarus was raised after being dead for four days.
Saints who were long gone were raised from the dead after Jesus died at the cross.
In Ezekiel’ vision of the valley of dry bones, bones that were very dry (long dead) came back together and formed complete human bodies, coming back to life.
If you believe that Jesus is Lord, then you must accept that the Bible is a true historical record.
The stories within actually happened.
Our God specializes in saving us from danger, even at the last moment, even after if He has to raise us from the dead.
There is always hope with God, and nothing is impossible for the one who believes in Him.

“Because of the extravagance of those revelations, and so I wouldn’t get a big head, I was given the gift of a handicap to keep me in constant touch with my limitations. Satan’s angel did his best to get me down; what he in fact did was push me to my knees. No danger then of walking around high and mighty! At first I didn’t think of it as a gift, and begged God to remove it. Three times I did that, and then he told me, My grace is enough; it’s all you need. My strength comes into its own in your weakness. Once I heard that, I was glad to let it happen. I quit focusing on the handicap and began appreciating the gift. It was a case of Christ’s strength moving in on my weakness. Now I take limitations in stride, and with good cheer, these limitations that cut me down to size—abuse, accidents, opposition, bad breaks. I just let Christ take over! And so the weaker I get, the stronger I become.” (2 Corinthians 12:7-10 MSG)
I love the paraphrasing of the passage above, done in “The Message” Bible translation.
The apostle Paul received amazing revelations about Heaven and about the Gospel of Grace. He was even allowed to hear truths in Paradise that he wasn’t allowed to utter back on earth.
A person having privileged access to such sacred knowledge can cause one’s heart to be lifted up in pride.
Thus, God allowed a demon, Paul’s “thorn in the side”, to trouble him.
God lifted His hedge of protection and permitted the demon to do that to protect Paul from being too proud because of the great revelations he received directly from God.
The demonic attacks reminded Paul that he needed to rely on God’s grace, just like everyone else.
Imagine Paul’s terrible fall if God didn’t allow the demon to pester him. The higher a heart is lifted up in pride, the worse the fall.
That’s why I believe if God allows you to go through some sort of trial sent by the devil, there is a good reason for it, to protect you from something worse, or to set you up for something great. There is mercy in this decision.
God always has your best interests at heart. Trials build patience, faith, perseverance and ultimately the mature fruit of love.
Daniel’s friends Shadrach, Meshach and Abednego were cast into a fiery furnace in Babylon but they ended up being promoted, while those who threw them in were killed by the raging flames.
The same fire that prepares you for promotion to greater blessings, is deadly to your enemies.
You’re coming out alive and well to a broader place of abundance, and you won’t see your enemies again.
When I go through a trial, I like to quickly ask Jesus, “Lord, what is the lesson I need to learn from this trial? Thank You for showing it to me and refining my character to become more like You.”
Imagine if Joseph wasn’t allowed to be sent to Egypt. What if he wasn’t allowed to be cast into prison with the royal butler and baker? He would have never had the opportunity to meet the Pharaoh and become the second most powerful man in Egypt.
If you’re in a trial right now, believe that God is setting you up for a big opportunity. He is arranging things for your good. Everything will eventually converge to that point where you meet the helper who can propel you forward in your God-given calling.
In the meantime, continue praying and especially pray in tongues frequently if you have already received the gift. Praying gives consent for God to do as He wants to in your life.
Trust that He is infinitely good, and that the future He has planned for you is also very very good!
If you find yourself complaining and despairing, it just shows that you’ve not embraced what you’re supposed to learn or receive from the trial.
You’ll eventually get to that point of surrender where you lift your hands and say, “Lord, I’m tired of trying to figure this out on my own. I cannot, only You can save me from this. I cast it all into Your hands and fully trust in You. Do Your work in me. Amen.”
This year, you’ll need the entrance of God’s word to give you light to see. His word will be a lamp to your feet, showing you the way step by step.

In ancient Babylon, when three brave Jewish ministers were committed to obey God’s word, they also faced severe persecution from King Nebuchadnezzar.
“Now if you are ready whenever you hear the sound of the horn, flute, zither, lyre, harp, pipe, and all kinds of music to fall down and worship the image which I have made, good: but if you don’t worship, you shall be cast the same hour into the middle of a burning fiery furnace; and who is that god that shall deliver you out of my hands? Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego answered the king, Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. If it happens, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace; and he will deliver us out of your hand, O king. But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we will not serve your gods, nor worship the golden image which you have set up. Then was Nebuchadnezzar full of fury, and the form of his appearance was changed against Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego. He spoke, and commanded that they should heat the furnace seven times more than it was usually heated. He commanded certain mighty men who were in his army to bind Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, and to cast them into the burning fiery furnace. Then these men were bound in their pants, their tunics, and their mantles, and their other clothes, and were cast into the middle of the burning fiery furnace.” (Daniel 3:15-21 WEB)
In short, the three men refused to worship the king—it would be betraying God and committing the sin of idolatry.
King Nebuchadnezzar was so angry that he commanded for the fire to be heated seven times hotter than usual before throwing the men in.
You see, the furnace is a picture of demonic attack.
If you fall sick and you insist on trusting God for healing, the demons will try to increase the intensity of the attack by seven times to intimidate you!
They are angry that the attack didn’t destroy your faith.
The story might have ended tragically for the three men if God was not involved.
As God’s word says, whoever trusts in Yahweh (the pre-incarnate Jesus) will never be put to shame.
They were saved from the furnace and the fire had no effect on them!
“Then Nebuchadnezzar came near to the mouth of the burning fiery furnace: he spoke and said, Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego, you servants of the Most High God, come out, and come here. Then Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego came out of the middle of the fire. The satraps, the deputies, and the governors, and the king’s counselors, being gathered together, saw these men, that the fire had no power on their bodies, nor was the hair of their head singed, neither were their pants changed, nor had the smell of fire passed on them.” (Daniel 3:26-27 WEB)
There’s a saying that it’s always darkest before the dawn.
It may get worse before it gets better.
Keep persevering in prayer and hearing the word.
There’s only so much that the devil can do to scare you into giving up.
If you boldly stand on God’s word and claim His promises, your faith will be rewarded.
God has a protection plan for you. For every degree of persecution and attack that the enemy increases against you, there is a greater level of Grace present to deliver you from harm.
“Don’t lay in wait, wicked man, against the habitation of the righteous. Don’t destroy his resting place: for a righteous man falls seven times, and rises up again; but the wicked are overthrown by calamity.” (Proverbs 24:15-16 WEB)
Did you read the passage above? Because you’re righteous in Christ, you qualify for a seven times deliverance for a seven times hotter attack!
So don’t be afraid, God promises that you will rise up again in due time.
Your enemies will be overthrown, but you will be stepping into a place of great restoration and rewards!
