"My fondest memory of my mother was when I was three years old. I don't know how I remember this. She was walking me to childcare and it was pouring quite heavily before the two of us were pursued by two huge stray black dogs.
I remember being afraid that I was going to be eaten up or something. My mother jumped right in front of me, fearlessly shielding me.
When we arrived at the childcare, she passed me a toy to rid me of the traumatic memory of being pursued by stray dogs. I remember holding on to it for many hours until she returned to pick me up. Her bravery is something that I will never forget.
If I were to give my mother a message, I would say, "Sorry mum, I know that sometimes my actions get you worried and cause you grief. I hope you can understand your son's dreams and ambitions. I also hope you can understand my lifestyle and career even though it's quite different from that of your friend's children. I hope my modest success has made you proud. All I want is for you and papa to be proud of me whenever you see me on the big screen."
