Reflections on 2020. Ever since I started blogging I have written something on New Years Day, a reflection of sorts on the past year. This unprecedented, unusual year I did the same, though instead of writing about the travels of the past year, I reflected on this strange twisty journey of lockdowns and opening up that seemed to define 2020 (link in profile). In summary, I’ve learned not to place too much trust in our own plans, because we really, really have no idea what will happen next. Last year, after an unprecedented period of unrest in Hong Kong, everybody was looking forward to moving past 2019 into a new year. Little did we know what was in store for us. Similarly, we really have no idea what next year holds. Therefore, I live day to day, being thankful for each day as it comes, appreciating what I know to be true.
Let’s appreciate those around us, and try to bless others a bit each day. I personally hope to be more mindful of that this coming year.
