Jesus died for unworthy people. Unworthy people have a claim on Jesus' saving power.
An adverb modifies a verb. The verse is not saying that unworthy people cannot partake of the holy communion. It's saying that you can't partake in an unworthy MANNER.
An unworthy manner means to not discern the Lord's body.
"Discerning" is the Greek word "diakrino" which means "to make a separation".
