Immune-mediated Adverse Event (imAE) Management Workshop. - Dec 2nd, 2017.
This was one of the more challenging events that I've hosted recently. I noticed that it was difficult for our Hong Kong doctors on our Q&A panel to understand questions from mainland delegates, and immediately decided to offer on-the-spot translation services-- something I've always banned in my contracts. When I proposed the idea, the team was hesitant. We would only have a few minutes to handle a large amount of difficult questions, but I reassured the director, "We can do this. I read through the questions and I understand them. We can do this together." With the help of the team director, who had extensive experience in organizing medical seminars, I began "deciphering" and translating simplified Chinese handwriting about in-depth immunology queries, and proposed them to the panel in both mandarin and english. I wasn't sure if it was a good idea due to the level of complexity this entailed, but it definitely all worked out. Much appreciation to our team for taking up this spontaneous challenge with me, and a big thank you to our client for trusting me again. I always host your medical seminars with great pleasure. 😊
