這次要介紹的，是我們此生最愛影集《六人行》的特別篇：《六人行：當我們又在一起》(Friends: The Reunion)。不管哪個世代的觀眾，一定都有聽過經典美劇《六人行》(Friends)的鼎鼎大名。雖然這是一齣90年代末期的美國情境喜劇，當年不僅席捲全球，在100多個國家放映；在多年之後，還成為了Netflix緊抓不放的熱門影集，吸引了許多跨世代的親子影迷一同追劇！

後來，華納以天價取回了《六人行》的獨家串流權，也規劃了一部110分鐘的《六人行：當我們又在一起》的特別節目。原先我們以為這會是一齣集結幕後花絮的回顧訪談，但在觀影之後卻發現內容不只如此：不僅有場景巡禮、經典劇情讀本、還還原了當年機智問答的劇情，來介紹重要配角的出場；除此之外還有經典戲服時裝秀、製作人的選角過程、還邀約了全球粉絲來親自告白《六人行》對他們造成的影響，包含諾貝爾和平獎得主馬拉拉、Lady Gaga、還有足球金童貝克漢等等⋯都為這部特別篇增添了不少的可看性。

【當年為了寫贏美國人，我花了上百個小時在哥大圖書館做這件事】

每當學生問起我是怎樣在托福、雅思寫作都能穩穩考滿分時，我都會跟他們講這個故事。

2011 年，從賓大到哥大時，我幻想著休閒時間，就要到 SOHO 的咖啡廳看看書，感受被小說家跟 #紐約時報 的 editors 們包圍著工作的氣氛。放假時，要到中央公園吃著在 Plaza Hotel 地下街買的龍蝦堡享受一下午的悠閒。

沒想到一開學，我的生活變瞬間變成了：「不是在圖書館，就是往圖書館的路上。」過程當中，好強的我，為了「英文寫作要比哥大的美國學生更好」這個目標，我開始整理了「 #英文寫作資料庫」。

在閱讀了幾百、甚至幾千篇頂尖期刊後，我發現了不分領域、很多的「共通性」。有很多的高頻用法，都是可以被整理、分類的。

例如：
✔︎ 在指出 research gap 時，學者們不約而同地使用 “Relatively little is known about sth…”

✔︎ 在指出證據越來越多時，他們不約而同地使用 “Evidence is growing that…”（絕對不是 There're more and more evidences 喔）

如果我們可以掌握這些高頻、模組化的寫作特性，其實很多時候不需要拼命地用中文組裝，最後反而製造出了多 #奇形怪狀的中式英文 寫法。

✔︎ 這套我一直以來 #整理英文寫作語料 的方式（我叫它 #3D英文筆記術 ），我會在這次與 #Hahow 合作的線上課程當中與你們分享。

► 表達目的時，我們需要注意「#文法搭配」，才能用的出來
X is intended to… / X is aimed at… / X is consistent with Y

► 有了 #詞義搭配 (lexical collocation) 這個模組，我們才能很自然地使用 a handful of studies / a wealth of research / a suite of questions 這樣的用法。

► 對 #慣用句頭、#慣用句中 的熟悉、整理，寫作時才能夠輕鬆用出：
・The past decade has witnessed XXX
・There has been much controversy surrounding…
・X stand in stark contrast to Y
・X is subject to Y
・X has grown in importance / popularity

Claypot Chicken Rice
Ingredients:
Serves 3 - 4 pax
-------
Marinated chicken
+++++
250g boneless chicken thigh meat (remove skin & cut into bite size pieces)
1 tablespoon oyster sauce
1 teaspoon light soy sauce
1/2 teaspoon sugar
1 teaspoon rice wine (or water)
1.5 tablespoons of cornflour
A few dashes of white pepper
1 tablespoon sesame oil
+++++
Fry 10g of dried salted fish until brown and crispy

Sauce

1 tablespoon shallot oil or normal cooking oil (Shallot oil recipe: https://youtu.be/7ZAC099Xw3o)
2 tablespoons premium dark soy sauce
1 tablespoon light soy sauce
80ml or 1/3 cup water
1 teaspoon sugar

Other ingredients
+++++
2 cups or 300g of jasmine rice (use a rice cup to measure)
2 cups or 340ml of water (use a rice cup to measure)
60g of Chinese sausage (slice the sausage first then soak in hot water for about 5 mins to remove casing)
1 piece of wet salted fish
A handful of your favourite greens (we used kailan or Chinese broccoli)

Pour the sauce over the rice and add the crispy salted fish on the rice before serving. Mix well and enjoy.

ㄧ鍋到底三杯雞，簡單無水三杯雞ㄧ次學會Three-Cup Chicken （Sanbeiji）

The chicken is tender and velvety, a little crisp at its edges, surrounded by coins of ginger and cloves of garlic. The sauce is dark and pungent — soy sauce cut through with aged rice wine , perfect for ladling onto rice. There is a sweetness in there as well, sugar and sesame against the salt of the soy. A handful or two of Thai basil added at the end imparts a floral punch.
