Of all skin problems, I think stubborn dark spots are the worst villain of all. They don't recover in days or months and even if they do, they tend to come back darker than ever, at least for me. Recently, even my mother-in-law called me sounding troubled about her skin and asked if I have any products to recommend. Long hours gardening in the hot sun has started to cause visible freckles and brown patches on her normally clear cheeks.

I attended their launch event last month and listened to Dr Goh Boon Kee, Consultant Dermatologist at Mount Elizabeth shed light on hyperpigmentation and their underlying causes. The triggers are mainly UV radiation, heat inflammation, prescription drugs and even some professional treatments.
The serum features the latest generation of discoloration-fighting ingredients such as Tranexamic Acid, Kojic Acid and Niacinamide to improve skin tone. In case you're wondering, it's hydroquinone and silicone free.
I love how quickly it gets absorbed into the skin and I'm pretty sure my MIL will be happy with it too.
In my opinion, topical products are best used to lighten new spots, prevent future ones and complement our professional skin treatments. If you're looking to address pronounced and stubborn dark patches, I suggest consulting a dermatologist or skin specialist instead.
