At an affordable $3, Hee Fish Ball Noodle’s dry mee pok came with fishballs, meat ball, fish cake slices, lean pork and tau gay. The al dente mee pok was springy with a good bite. ⁣⁣

An item inspired by the owner’s Thai roots, the moo ping ($1.50 for 1 skewer, $4 for 3 skewers) were grilled only upon order. Each skewer was wondrously succulent and moist. Coated in a slightly sweet caramelised sauce, the BBQ pork was grilled to a charred and crisp perfection. Swing by if you’d like some aroi mak mak old-school noodles and juicy grilled pork skewers.⁣⁣

Jalan Bukit Merah Market & Food Centre is a morning place. Hong Yong Chao Zhou Yu Yuan Guo Tiao Mian also starts selling its fishball noodles from 4:15am onwards, and soon sells out by 10am. ⁣

Hia Tsoong Chiau starts his day at the fish market at 2am to collect 黄尾鱼 (Yellowtail, aka 番薯鱼), blends the fish at 3:15am and shapes the fishballs by 4:15am. Only 2000+ fishballs are made each operating day. The kway teow mee, which was coated in pork lard oil, was extremely fragrant. Simple yet a great kick-starter of the day!⁣

Happy Good Friday people! A quick noodle video for you guys today. Please note that i filmed this video way before the Circuit Breaker period, didn't sneak out to shoot some videos during the 1 month lockdown, don't intend to also.



In this video, i went down to Ah Hua Teochew Fishball Noodle to settle my noodle cravings by slamming a massive plate of fishball noodles (close to 20 servings.)


Super delicious despite the noodle sitting out for awhile. Noodles were cooked perfect, seasoning on point. Love the handmade balls, a bit on the salty side but perfect for me.


Do note that they are still operating during the Circuit Breaker period but strictly for takeaways only. Do remember to maintain your social distancing while queuing for the food. Stay safe people!
