I can not give you posing or expression tips because I'm so terrible at it as you can see, but with some of these lighting setups, you will definitely get some amazing portraits or video lighting setup.

Natural window light is one of the most flattering and accessible light source. You can also use a desk lamp if you want. I've provided some learning sources that I found extremely useful in the comment section. From DIY to professional lighting equipment, it doesn't really matter that much when you first start.
