Never been a big fan of pizza & pasta until I tried
my first margarita here in Tokyo almost 1 decade ago.

I still remember being in a lunch meeting at
an #ItalianRestaurant in Omotesandō Hills.
It was one of my first trips to Japan
prior to signing the recording deal.

My hosts had ordered me a pizza set meal
& I was silently strategising on how to approach
the whole situation without offending them.

Back home in KL, I struggle to finish 1 slice
& there I was with entire #pizza
in a meeting that would potentially
change the course of my life.

Eventually, the pizza arrived & I took my first bite.
And another, then another.
Until I had finished the entire pizza,
so effortlessly I surprised myself.

The rest is history.

So if you’re ever in Tokyo & run out of
local food ideas, go to an Italian Restaurant
& treat yourself to a wood-fired pizza.
IMHO, the Japanese make the best.

Side note, today,
I built my very first “vegan” pizza at a
non-vegan pizza chain called @800degrees_japan
Complete with vegan cheese & soy ham. Gluten-free options available but we didn’t try.

Wouldn’t be in a hurry to order the #vegan option
unless of course you don’t have a choice. Nevertheless I’d recommend it as
a great place where everyone can dine together.
