【我靠這2招讓英文學術寫作用字更到位、專業、漂亮】

常常有學生問我要怎樣寫英文時，用字可以精準、漂亮一點。今天想以台灣學習者的角度，給大家 2 個方向參考。

✔︎ 方法一：努力指數很多，但值得長期投資

用字想要精準，那就要確實地掌握好各個字是在「什麼樣的上下文」中下面做使用。而要知道在怎樣的上下文中使用，則要有查閱英英字典的習慣（很多人已經想放棄了 lol)，因為英英字典在給英文定義時， 很多時候後面會有一個小括弧，解釋該字應該用在怎樣的狀況下使用。

➠ 舉例：假如你想要寫， 「這個文章錯誤百出」，那麼第一秒你可能想到：

The article is full of errors. / The article is filled with errors. (程度：高中英文)

但我們連中文「充滿」學完，都會學有負面意味的「充斥著」了，英文也可以繼續升級吧？ 在英文裡如果想使用「充斥著」，可以考慮使用 be riddled with sth。

劍橋字典定義說：If a plan or system, etc. is riddled with bad features, such as mistakes, it is full of them.

因此可以改用 The article is riddled with errors. 就是很漂亮、很到位，但有不會被說亂曬大字的用法了。

✔︎ 方法二：努力指數不多，立即見效
即便是英語母語人士在寫作的時候，第一個想起的動詞通常是偏口語、高頻的。像是 have, has, do, does, get, make, take... 這種「弱弱的動詞」。這時可以考慮在
寫完潤稿時，一個一個將其改為合適的「強動詞」。

➠ 例如：
“have“ the same difficulty 調成 experience
"have" a deeper understanding of 調成 gain
"get" a driver's license 調成 obtain
"get" a sense of achievement 調成 derive
"do" an analysis 調成 conduct
"do" an investigation 調成 pursue

我覺得大家可以將像右邊的改寫版中使用的動詞群練熟、使用的搭配也查好，因為像是 gain, experience, obtain, derive, conduct, pursue 都是還算高頻，但又可以用在學術寫作或簡報上使用的字。其他相似字還有 perform、undertake 等。

⚑ 講到強動詞，很多英文老師講的強動詞會是表達「動作」的強動詞。例如，會建議大家不要用 run (跑)，要用 sprint (短距離衝刺)、jog (慢跑)。 不要用 walk (走)，要用 slink (潛行)、trot (小跑)

這大多是文學背景、外文系背景（非英語教學或語言學)，分析文學和小說久的教授或是老師以「美」跟「造詣」的角度給出的學習建議。我建議大家可以了解，在讀小說時可以欣賞，但還不需要照此方向學習。此方向的學習，對英語母語人士來說很合適，但連走都還「走不穩」大多台灣的英語學習者而言，可以先不用學習產出這樣的「飛功」。簡單而言，那是有了95分以後，追求99分做的事。

回到台灣了，也完成第一則專題了，這次真的很幸運參與這場國際盛會，謝謝台內長官支持和信任，讓我機會參與如此正式又盛大國際活動，真的謝謝長官！(鞠躬)🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️

典禮當天，上午和攝影大哥出發先在摩納哥市區繞，拍街景，攝影機才拿出來，警察就走過來，開口嘰哩咕嚕用法文告訴我們沒申請不能拍，再加上他腰上掛著槍又人高馬大的，我只能打哈哈地說，D'accord, d'accord, on partie maintenant.(ok, ok, 我們馬上離開！)之後我們就一路邊躲警察一邊拍，歐洲真的很多城市這樣，只要拿出腳架，馬上引起注意。

下午回到會場，領證、參加記者會，接著梳妝打扮，這是我最擔心的部分，因為本人平常不太打扮，臨時抱佛腳，化妝、換裝、一邊看youtube學盤頭髮，結果還可以吧？！沒丟人吧？！哈哈！💃🏼

進入會場之後，頗有劉姥姥逛大觀園之感，從動線規劃到進入會場，都有工作人員帶領，我們也是少數的東方面孔，挺特別的，席間杯觥交錯，氣氛美好，等頒獎典禮告一段落，9點多晚飯開吃，在用完主菜，甜點開吃之前，眼看晚宴就要結束，前面的大明星都站起來到處聊天，於是我鼓起勇氣，找他們拍照，照片就是這樣來的囉!😁

Back in Taiwan! Lots of thanks to my boss, thanks for trusting me and being so supportive, so I can have such opportunities to attend this major event. (Bow) 🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️🙇🏻‍♀️

Before the award ceremony, my cameraman and I took shuttle bus to down town to do some onsite shooting, but as soon as we set the tripod, the policeman came to us and commanded us stop shooting immediately cause it required permission to conduct filming on the street. So I told him we're leaving at once, but we spent the rest of time hiding the authorities, risk to be caught but still kept filming. I do hope the Monaco authorities are not following my FB or my pages and arrest me for against their law, haha.

We were back to hotel at noon and getting ready for the event and the banquet. And there came to my worst part, dress up. Although I already chose a gown, make up and how to my hair done were the real issue to me, since I didn't practice much, I was watching YouTube and tried to make a easy updo. And voilà, thank God, I did a pretty good job. Haha~💃🏼

And came to my very first time walking on the red carpet, although the first section was blue, it was truly fabulous, the gown, the atmosphere, even the air was full of excitement. Real celebrities were there where I am shameful to admit that I don't recognize all. The award ceremony took 2 hours, later on, it was the banquet, as most of the quests had their main course, some sport super stars begun to talk and laugh to each other, that was the time, I took a deep breath and encouraged myself to ask some of them if I could take a photo with them. That's how I got those pictures! Really sensational! #Laureus17
