The Great Multitude in Heaven

“After these things I looked, and behold, a great multitude, which no man could count, out of every nation and of all tribes, peoples, and languages, standing before the throne and before the Lamb, dressed in white robes, with palm branches in their hands. They cried with a loud voice, saying, “Salvation be to our God, who sits on the throne, and to the Lamb!” All the angels were standing around the throne, the elders, and the four living creatures; and they fell on their faces before his throne, and worshiped God, saying, “Amen! Blessing, glory, wisdom, thanksgiving, honor, power, and might, be to our God forever and ever! Amen.” One of the elders answered, saying to me, “These who are arrayed in the white robes, who are they, and from where did they come?” I told him, “My lord, you know.” He said to me, “These are those who came out of the great tribulation. They washed their robes, and made them white in the Lamb’s blood. Therefore they are before the throne of God, they serve him day and night in his temple. The passage above depicts the scene of the saints arriving in Heaven right after the Rapture.

The main confusion for most people here regarding the timeline of this event is because of the words “came out of the great tribulation”, making them think that it happens in the middle or end of the Tribulation.

However, I believe that the Rapture happens once the appointed time for the Tribulation begins.

Whether someone comes out of the Tribulation at the start, in the middle, or at the end of it does not matter—it is still coming out of the Tribulation.

Let me give you an example. Let’s say you go and watch a movie at a cinema. You did not like the movie immediately, so you left the cinema shortly after arriving. The fact is, you still came out of the cinema, even if it was at the start of the movie. Makes sense?

Additionally, the Tribulation saints who miss the Rapture and only believe in Jesus during the Tribulation will not receive salvation immediately, but only at the end of the Tribulation when Jesus returns. They have to endure to the end (without receiving the mark of the beast) to be saved.

Read the following passage which takes place after the Tribulation, at the start of the Millennial reign of Christ. It shows that the martyred Tribulation saints will only come alive again and receive eternal life after the Tribulation has ended:

“I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was given to them. I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for the testimony of Jesus, and for the word of God, and such as didn’t worship the beast nor his image, and didn’t receive the mark on their forehead and on their hand. They lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. The rest of the dead didn’t live until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection.” (Revelation‬ ‭20:4-5‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

Jesus said the following words to the church of Philadelphia (all of them have fallen asleep since then):

“Because you kept my command to endure, I also will keep you from the hour of testing, which is to come on the whole world, to test those who dwell on the earth.” (Revelation‬ ‭3:10‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

There is an hour of testing coming upon the whole world, which is the seven years of Tribulation, but it is not for the church. Jesus’ message is true for the church today as well. We will not be going through the Tribulation.

“But let us, since we belong to the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love, and, for a helmet, the hope of salvation. For God didn’t appoint us to wrath, but to the obtaining of salvation through our Lord Jesus Christ, who died for us, that, whether we wake or sleep, we should live together with him.” (1 Thessalonians‬ ‭5:8-10‬ ‭WEB‬‬)

We are not waiting for the Antichrist to appear. Instead, we are looking forward to Jesus’ return. We will obtain the last part of our salvation: the transformation of our mortal bodies into glorified bodies. Those who have fallen asleep will be raised from the dead first, and then we will all be transformed in the twinkling of an eye, to have immortal bodies that match our righteous spirits.

We are not appointed to go through the time of wrath. God knows how to separate the righteous from the wicked, just as He made a distinction between the children of Israel and the Egyptians during the ten plagues in Egypt. The children of Israel were preserved alive, and so were their flocks, but the Egyptians and their flocks suffered/died.

So do not fear—lift your head and confidently expect Jesus to return for us any day now!

Let me end off with a poem I wrote called “Jesus I Need You”. As you read, tune your heart to expect His imminent return. It is a hope that purifies you!

Jesus I’d be lost without Your love,
everyday would be so hard.
When things don’t go my way,
I fall into Your embrace,
I am forever Yours.

I can’t imagine life without You,
that would be Hell for sure.
I need grace and mercy that’s from You,
by myself I’m powerless.

Let me abide in the Vine,
I’ll hear of You and be fine.
Faith will rise—I’ll speak forth life,
fruitfulness is sure.

I know you’ll never let me go.
With You I’ll walk on water,
we’ll rise above every power.

Lord Jesus,

Amidst every trial,

The world really has evolved several stages since 2020, and also since the beginning of my career- and that’s the beauty of it all. Nothings permanent, everything changes and newer, more exciting things keep coming into the mix.

Tomorrow my baby will turn 6 months. What a massive milestone, for her and for myself. As I am learning everyday to be a better mother, I am also learning to become a stronger me. I have been wanting to update fans and friends on how I am doing - and yet every time I try, I just feel like “oh gosh. Where do I even start?” And before that thought process is over, I would be busy either feeding my baby, changing a diaper, soothing her, or putting her to sleep.

The first few months of my baby’s life felt like it flew by so quickly yet at the same time pre-baby feels like a lifetime ago - everything in my world has shifted. My whole focus was her - I was breastfeeding, (which, by the way, is HEAPS harder than giving birth), making sure she’s eating well, sleeping well, and pooping well. And, understandably, paranoid about any kind of germs in the house. There was no difference between day and night, it’s just wake time and sleep time. It made no difference for me what day of the week it was, what weather it was, what’s happening with my industry, or with the world other than the daily Covid news, because I just needed to stay home make sure that my little newborn is far far far away from covid. I barely saw friends, and hadn’t eaten in a restaurant for north of half a year. As I took care of her, I barely had time to wash my own face, go to the bathroom, or sleep for a long stretch of time. I also didn’t have enough breastmilk, so I would sit there and try to pump the life out of me, just so I could provide half of a meal for my baby. I tried everything - but I do know that low supply isn’t uncommon. So- as glamorous as mom life can appear to be on social media, don’t be fooled. It’s humbling, but it’s also life-altering and the most rewarding thing I’ve ever done.

Emotionally, I’ve been so over the moon and happy. I enjoy spending time with my newborn baby, she makes me giggle and smile - even though I wish my mother was here to share old baby stories of me, and experience all of this together. But having a daughter really makes you feel more connected to your mother on a completely different level - I just know she’s happy and proud of me from up above. I’ve taught her how to semi-feed herself, how to fall asleep by herself, teaching her still how to roll, sit, and semi-stand (crazy!!), and I’ve played her tunes on my guitar like she’s the only fan in my fan club.

I also consider myself blessed that I never had issues with postpartum depression, despite suffering from mommy’s wrist. I had an amazing relationship with my 陪月/月嫂 who helped me immensely more than words can say. I have not been able to see my side of the family for over a year, but I’m blessed to have amazing in-laws and fellow mommy friends to share experiences with.

Nothing has been easy, but I am the most grateful for my husband - he was always by my side when I needed him. We change diapers together, we bathe our daughter, we sing to her together, and read bedtime stories to her together. I can safely say, that I’m MUCH happier than when I was towards the end of my music label contract. There have been some dark years there.

Hitting 6 months is a big deal for me. I can safely pat myself on my back and reminisce on THE single most biggest achievement of my life, my daughter. Obviously, 6 months is not long in the grand scheme of things, ie. her entire life ahead, but it is a big milestone for me mentally, and finally I feel it’s time to really focus on my own personally healing. I completely lost myself in taking care of her, and yet I felt the most alive and the most needed - and I found a new me in the process. It’s a beautiful kind of chaos and I embraced all of it. But yes, now it’s time for me again. finally.

Hitting this 6 month mark, I have decided to now wean from breastfeeding, take care of my body better, drink some wine, and write more songs for real. (If my daughter allows, lol). I am choosing to give myself some more me-time, read a book, get my nails done, and eventually get a haircut too. And.. start to think about dieting and training. Moms don’t get enough credit for deciding consciously to not slim down yet because they gotta breastfeed. But- with that said, all moms have their own struggles that no one knows of, so never judge!

A part of the stress that comes with social media sometimes, is actually comments on moms’ sizes, even praises of “wow you slimmed down fast!” As though that’s the most important thing of all. The toxic culture pains me and I just know it’s not the point. For me, it really was a conscious decision, just to be a mother first, above all else, at least for these first six months of her little life. And looking at her, strong, happy and healthy, I am truly so so proud of her for her growth and development.

And finally.. I’m finally ready to think about myself again as a musician. I know I’m lucky to be able to have a choice of being with her for 6 months; I count my blessings everyday. But as songwriting wheels become rustier, and as the industry evolves, I’m quite frankly not sure yet what a singer-songwriter mom looks like. I struggle to name artists in the Chinese speaking world that I could reference from - but I promise I’ll continue to bring music to those ears that still choose to listen.

I still hope that one day - little Naomi can see mama on stage. Looking down at her as she sleeps, I always imagine what she would be like as she grows up - and I hope that one day she will be able to pursue what she loves to do and focus on the truly meaningful things in life.

【キンコン西野の今】

昨日の夜は大阪・道頓堀でサロンメンバーさんとの呑み会がありました。

映画公開前の呑み会が「ただの呑み会」なわけがなく、まぁ、お察しの通り、映画『えんとつ町のプペル』の決起集会ですね。
「映画公開に合わせて、大阪・道頓堀も盛り上げちゃおう」といった趣旨です。

今日は映画のエンディング主題歌の収録があって、それが終われば、また、一人でも多くの方に映画館に足を運んでもらう為の準備です。
ナンジャカンジャで明日の朝まで仕事。

作っては、空き時間を見つけて広報活動。

賽の河原のように、最近は、この繰り返しです。

　
たとえば、学校のテストとかなら、テスト勉強をしていたら、今度のテストのおおよその点数が分かるじゃないですか？
　
実は、M-１グランプリとかも、今年の自分達が、どのあたりに食い込むかは、もう夏頃には、大体わかるんです。
各劇場でネタをかけて、そのウケと、ライバル達のウケを見ているので。

書籍も、メガヒットするかどうかは分からないですが、５万部売れたらヒット、絵本だったら５０００部売れたらヒットという世界なので、発売前の段階で、自分の新刊が合格ラインを越すかどうかは、おおよそ想像がつく。
クラウドファンディングで予約をとったり、事前に仕掛けていれば、尚のこと。

ただ、映画ばっかりは、蓋を開けてみないと分からない。
　
『えんとつ町のプペル』は作品の規模感としては、５０万人動員では大失敗のレベルなんです。
週末も名古屋が入っていますが、今、全国を飛び回って、本当に毎日のように、映画館に足を運んでもらう為の活動をしていますが、個人でいくらやっても、５０万人とかは届かないじゃないですか？
力技で届く領域じゃないくて、力技は上手くいっても起爆剤でしかなくて、今回の挑戦は明らかにムーブメントを起こさないといけない。

そのくせ、僕は何百人というスタッフの生活と、オンラインサロンだけでも、少なくとも７万人以上の期待を背負ってしまっている。

何もしなかったら恐怖で潰れそうだから、「あとは何ができる？」と自問自答して、やれる努力を片っ端からやるのですが、結局、どれだけやっても不安を拭い去ることはできない。

そりゃあ、まあ、気持ちが落ち着くことはないし、
少しでも油断するとハゲそうだし、
「また、厄介なところに首を突っ込んじゃったなぁ」と思うのですが、

こうして死にそうな目に遭わないと、生きていることが確認できない身体になってしまっているのは事実で、もう、昔みたいな暮らしに戻る方法はすっかり忘れてしまいました。　

僕にもあったんです。朝起きて、テレビを見ていた時代が。
今はもう「他人の思い出」みたいになっていますが。

でも、最近……これは完全に棚ボタなんですけど、やたら「ありがとうございます」と言われるんです。
こうして次から次へと無理難題にぶつかっていく姿が、励みになっているみたいで、いや、そりゃ、多少はエールのつもりでやっている部分もありますが、おそらく、誰のエールにもなっていなくても僕は今の道を選んでいるので、「誰かの為にやっています」とは言い切れない。だから、「ありがとうございます」と言われると、少し、モゾモゾしてしまいます（笑）

今、映画公開に向けて「ゴミ人間」というそこそこ人気の連載コラムをやっておりまして、是非、ご一読いただきたいのですが、

一昨日、『えんとつ町のプペル』の誕生に深く関わったスタッフの話を書いたんです。

その子は、もうこの世界にはいないのですが、僕が日本中から叩かれている時でも、構わず僕を信じてくれていた子で、先日、ET-KINGのイトキンさんの話をさせていただきましたが、それと同じ理由で、『えんとつ町のプペル』という作品を作り、届けることが、彼女やイトキンさんのことを忘れさせないことに繋がってます。

何が言いたいかと言うと、

多くのスタッフや、
７万人を超えるサロンメンバーや、
「ありがとう」と言ってくれる人達や、
天国に逝っちゃったスタッフやイトキンさんや、
そのご家族の皆様や、その仲間の皆様…

といった本当にたくさんの方の想いが今回の挑戦には乗っかっていて、ちょっとやそっとでは白旗をあげるわけにはいかなくなっていて、
「ああ、こういうものを背負った時に人は強くなるんだなぁ」と実感しています。

まぁ、なかなか眠れない人が続きますが、「今、頑張らなくて、いつ頑張るんだ」という話なので、映画公開まで後５０日間ほど、走り抜けたいと思います。
