Hundreds of refugees holed up in an Australian-run immigration detention center on Manus Island, in Papua New Guinea, are refusing to leave despite being denied access to the necessities of life.
They say if they leave they risk being attacked by locals who don't want them living in their town.

After my chief mate license, I’ve decided to continue my sea time… except not on a containership.
I’ve always strive to make good use of my spare time when working on a ship (ie. Shooting maritime videos) and so I was thrilled when I have had the opportunity to help with relief work/medical aid missions onboard the M.V. YWAM PNG
In this video, I vlog about my life at (uncharted) sea, what is it that we are doing and the special work done by all the volunteers onboard.
One of the most amazing moments I have had so far was witnessing a old man, blind for 15 years, having his eyesight restored onboard our ship. The man in tears, on his knees, repeated the sentence with joy and gratitude saying “Thank you! Thank you! Now I get to see my grandchildren”
