This guy’s been so busy being a superstar in China (and getting awards everywhere) that we were only able to finally catch up impromptu on Christmas Day, although we did meet briefly during #StarhubNightOfStars last Saturday (where I was directing the show) and he won the Breakthrough Star of the Year award.
The last time we caught up was 2 years ago (he said he was going to China to pursue an acting career). He’s still as handsome as ever (still has that tofu skin), and his Chinese is now super good (better than Lulu’s 🤣)!
Some people think it’s his luck or 命 (fate) that got him his #海兰察 role in #延禧攻略 (#YanXiPalace) leading to his #一炮而红 (overnight success) but 机会是留给有准备的人 (opportunity favours those who are prepared) and Lawrence Wong 王冠逸 remains one of the most focused and pro-active artistes I know, and I am truly so happy and proud of this local talent who has made good in China and I am very sure this is just the beginning of the journey for him. Pretty sure I won’t be able to catch this superstar next Christmas. 😄👍🏻👏🏻
