Chores and learning to contribute to the whole are such important lessons to learn for little ones. It teaches them responsibility and ownership, thoughtfulness and kindness, but more than anything, it builds up their confidence and inclusion, that they matter.
The best way is always just to include them in the conversation. Assign age-appropriate tasks. Give them a choice. Allow them the space to come up with ideas on how they could contribute. TRUST that they are able.
It might not be perfect at first, but with practice, they might even surprise you with how well they can accomplish the task...even from young!

1. Sweeping the floor
2. Wiping the counters and tables
3. Washing the dishes
4. Making her bed
5. Cleaning the windows
6. Helping mama prep for dinner - cutting, peeling, washing, spinning, etc
7. Setting the table - cutlery, water, soup bowls, plates, napkins
8. Putting laundry in the machine w daddy and helping to fold it when done
9. Helping to shop for groceries - bringing bags, lists, asking, etc
10. Making her breakfast in the morning

This was Ella Grace this last weekend. She was so happy to “help” at an event in our church.
Allowing and giving our children the responsibility of chores isn’t always a bad, pitiful, “cham” thing....just look at that face!
It’s the attitude that we role model approaching “work” that really matters.
