I woke up at 1pm today. ☁️
It is one of those day where I allow myself to turn off the alarm, and just sleep in. As I grow older, I slowly learned that, rest, is necessary.
Today’s gloomy weather also contributed to my good sleep. Woke up feeling afresh, and truly understand the meaning behind resting is productive now.
Also, can’t resist feeling thankful for this extremely comfy bedroom. I love my home. 🤍
Look Up, Not Around
Not everyone who says the word “God” and who quotes a Bible verse is trustworthy. It is tempting to be distracted by public figures and celebrities who have PR teams to craft a certain brand and image they want to market to you.
No matter how eloquent or charismatic these people are, don’t let their prominent activities and dialogues distract you from Jesus and what God is doing in the world.
When your heart is concerned with the things of the world, you will be weighed down by all sorts of manifestations of sin in the flesh.
With social media, our generation of people are able to know what is going on around us in a much greater scale than ever before. This means fear, worry, jealous, discouragement multiplied many times over.
In these end times there are many things you can focus on that will make you have a sense of dread for the future.
“But when these things begin to happen, look up, and lift up your heads, because your redemption is near.”” (Luke 21:28 WEB)
However, Jesus told us to look up and be excited for our imminent bodily redemption and to be prepared to meet Him in the air at any time.
When you spend your energy, resources and time on mere men—public figures and celebrities, you will be drained. They cannot give you true answers, and they can’t supply you with true solutions.
But when you focus on Jesus, everything you give as unto Him will be multiplied back to you manifold. As you behold Him, you are transformed from glory to glory.
There’s no such thing as having too much of Jesus; the more the better. Give yourself a break and turn to Jesus now. Still your heart from the cares and noise of this world, and allow Jesus to give you true rest!

Historic Movers & Shakers, and the Doomed – Lo Chan Peng Solo Exhibition
I listen to the whispers of my paint when I work, I listen to them telling me how to brush and spread, and I listen to their advice on which direction to turn.
Yes, listen, because I believe every being in this world has a voice, and you just need to listen carefully. Even the sunshine and the wide are trying to tell you something.
The sceneries outside my studio speeds past me. This year has made a huge impact on humanity, but I have remained in front of the canvas as I try to find the meaning of art. Layers of paint have accumulated at the edge of my canvases, like layers of rocks in geology, piling up day after day and year after year.
I decided to name the solo exhibition “Historic Shakers & Movers, and the Doomed” as I present my “Children of Syria” and “Historic Figures” series together for the first time, for this year has been particularly peculiar and I would like to conclude with these works which are significant to me.
Painting in search of its true meaning is not a bad experience at all.
I sincerely invite you to join Professor Chen Kuang-Yi and I in conversation on the day of the opening reception where I will be happy to sign copies of my brand-new exhibition catalogue.
