每年11月的第四個星期四是美國的感恩節，感恩節這天是親朋好友相聚共享傳統美食，對生活中美好事物表達感謝的重要節日。美國感恩節的經典菜色以北美當地原生食物為主，包括火雞、蔓越莓醬、馬鈴薯泥和胡桃派！AIT也準備了一些有趣的胡桃小常識來跟台灣朋友們分享這項傳統！
✅美國在2019年出口了將近9千萬美元的胡桃到台灣。
✅美國是世界上最大的胡桃生產國，2019年美國出口了90億美元的胡桃。
✅胡桃是北美洲唯一的原生堅果樹。
✅胡桃「pecan」這個字源自北美印地安語 (阿岡昆族) 的「pacane」，意思是「要用石頭才能敲開的堅果」。
✅胡桃樹需要7到10年才能長成適合收果的成年樹木，在那之後可以連續結果很長一段時間，甚至長達100年以上。
✅喬治亞州是美國胡桃的最大生產地，2016年產值將近2億美元。新墨西哥州則是緊跟在後。

Celebrated on the fourth Thursday in November, Thanksgiving in the United States is a time to gather with family and friends, share a traditional meal and express gratitude for the good things in life.
Thanksgiving revolves around foods native to the Americas: turkey, cranberry sauce, mashed potatoes, and pecan pie! AIT has prepared some fun facts about pecans to introduce this Thanksgiving tradition with Taiwan friends!
✅The United States exported nearly $90 million in pecans to Taiwan in 2019.
✅The United States is the world’s largest pecan-producing country and exported $9 billion in pecans in 2019.
✅The pecan is the only tree nut native to North America.
✅The name “pecan” is derived from the Native American (Algonquin) word “pacane” that described “nuts requiring a stone to crack.”
✅It takes between 7 to 10 years before a pecan tree begins to produce a full supply of nuts. But once the process starts, the tree can produce for a very long time, sometimes more than 100 years.
✅Georgia is the number one grower of U.S. pecans – producing almost $200 million worth in 2016. New Mexico is a close second.

This is a quick and easy way to make delicious Mont Blanc!!!
Instead of using sweetened chestnuts, you can also use leftover 栗きんとん (Kurikinton: mashed sweet potatoes with sweetened chestnuts) from New Year's food.

EASY Mont Blanc Aux Marrons
Difficulty: Easy
Time: depends on how far you make from scratch
Number of servings: 8
Ingredients:
((Sponge Cake & Whipped Cream))

((Marron Cream))
200g (7oz.) marron cream
40g whipped cream
1 tsp. rum *if you like
((Decoration))
whipped cream
sweetened chestnuts
Directions:
((Sweet Potato Cream))
1. Mix marron cream, whipped cream, and rum in a bowl. Transfer it to a pastry bag and snip off the end.
((Decoration))
1. Cut out sponge cake into round pieces, then place them on cupcake liners.
2. Place one sweetened chestnut and whipped cream in the center.
3. Pipe out the marron cream around the whipped cream.
4. Garnish with a sweetened chestnut and put in the fridge until cold.
*You can top with some edible gold leaf for gorgeous finish if you have!
