Visit to ICD and IRTI of IDB
I started my day with a visit to ICD. I met a few new friends and old friends. We have touched on a number of issues and debelopments.
Around 11am, I gave a lecture to some colleagues at IRTI on the topic of Shariah Algorithm in Fintech. Many are attracted by what the fintech can do on Shariah matters particularly on robo-Shariah. I proposed to IRTI to do a roundtable discussion on this aspect to see the future of Shariah on fintech and the future of fintech on Shariah.
After zohor prayer, I had some discussion with Dr Omair Zuhair Hafiz the former advisor to IDB President and Dr Fidad al-Asyashi, the in-house Shariah scholar at IRTI from Algeria. We had a quick lunch together.
Before I left IDB, I managed to have a get together session with some Malaysians working at IDB and ICD for a few photos.
I will have the last meeting at 7pm before going to the airport for 130am morning flight to Kuala Lumpur. This is my 10th day overseas. Looking forward to be back in Malaysia for a few days before the next trip.
Travelling is both tiring and exciting. In any case, it is a Quranic motion which puts a lot on praise on travellers. What do you get from travelling? A lot. Surely you will get something which you will NEVER get if you are based only at your base and environment.
