I spent the afternoon with the team from #SentulFreeClinicofHOPE as a Clinic Assistant reaching out to the urban poor community who need medical assistance.

As it was my first time volunteering, Nurse Mona was very patient with me as she taught me the ropes in assisting her in the clinic. Initially, I felt a bit awkward ... but her warmth and positivity is quite infectious and by half an hour, I felt quite comfortable manning the registration and helping Dr Asha and the team in whatever little I could do.

I brought my 6 year-old along with me and I'm glad she came. She played with the refugee children who were there for treatment or accompanying their mother/sister; and though Iman Daniella and the other children could barely understand one another, love and kindness transcends all and language barriers were broken.

I learnt so much within that short time assisting, but most of all, my sense of gratitude and humility was woken up and I am inspired by the work of Katy, Derek, Ceaser, Mona and the other wonderful HWM team members who do so much for our underserved community.

Through #HopeWorldwideMalaysia, the Vaseline Healing Project shall bring healing to folks like those I met today as well as the rural communities in Grik, Mantin, Sabah and Sarawak.

Today, I’m happy to say that so far, Malaysians have raised over RM140,000 for the Vaseline Healing Project =)

We will add RM1 towards helping HOPE worldwide Malaysia’s Medical Program to provide free medical assistance and education about sanitation and hygiene for the underprivileged in Malaysia.

As an ongoing effort in #TheVaselineHealingProject, the project ambassador, Daphne Iking volunteers in our #SentulFreeClinicofHOPE as a Clinic Assistant for our nurses and doctor, partaking the journey in bringing the hope and joy of healing to the urban poor community.

Thanks Daphne for taking part in this project wholeheartedly by volunteering in our Free Clinic, reaching out to the urban poor community. Besides, Daphne brought along her husband and daughter, volunteering in the Clinic as a Family together. It is such a heartwarming thing to do in cultivating "Giving Back to Society" as part of the Lifestyles in the Family, and as well, leaving a positive impact to our next generation too.
