Yesterday, during the Fortitude Budget speech, our Singapore Deputy Prime Minister talked about the increasing demand for IT, technology and engineering related workers. The digital space is growing, and through this COVID-19 pandemic, more businesses are seeing the need to transition to digitization and having an online presence instead of just a physical storefront.
When you start a blog or website, it’s the beginning of building an online presence. It opens up new opportunities for you and suddenly you’re able to reach a wider audience and customer base than ever before.
“But you, Daniel, shut up the words, and seal the book, even to the time of the end: many shall run back and forth, and knowledge shall be increased.”” (Daniel 12:4 WEB)
The end times is marked by an exponential increase in knowledge. The last time I heard, the world’s experts call this time the “Information Age”.
There are many benefits in starting a website or blog, because there are so many searching for knowledge online. People are even willing to pay for knowledge.
As a Christian writer and blogger, I use my time to study the Bible, and share the revelations I receive during my study time in my blog, social media and books. I spent years experimenting with my own website and social media platforms.
Since people are looking for knowledge, let it be the truth of God’s word that they find. If there’s demand, there’s an opportunity. Just provide the supply. It’s perfectly okay to be paid well for the time you spend in creating quality content that improves people’s lives!
Monetizing your website or blog isn’t like a job. In your salaried job, even if you slack off and your boss doesn’t notice, you still get paid by the hour.
In blogging and selling your own products online, you are paid based on the results you get—not based on per hour, but per sale or per click (for ads).
This means that you have the opportunity to grow your income without a boss to set your limits.
Ask the Lord to give you creative, wise ideas and place you in the right place at the right time to generate massive results. Only He can give you the grace for that.
You can learn all you want from so-called ‘experts’ online, but if you don’t receive favor from God, you can’t succeed.
“I planted. Apollos watered. But God gave the increase. So then neither he who plants is anything, nor he who waters, but God who gives the increase. Now he who plants and he who waters are the same, but each will receive his own reward according to his own labor.” (1 Corinthians 3:6-8 WEB)
You can plant and water all you want by your own efforts, but without God giving the increase, your website or blog won’t grow. It’s so important to receive and rely on His favor!
Perhaps you even lost your job or took a pay cut. Why not explore a new way of doing things and learn new skills?
Being able to build, manage and market a website are valuable skills that add value to companies who are looking to hire talents.
If you’re going to start a website or a blog, do it for God’s glory, to exalt the name of Jesus. You’ll be rewarded for your labor of faith, hope and love.
I have a local friend who builds professional websites for a living, and he charges even up to $50,000 for a website.
My rate is much, much lower than that. I’ve built websites for clients before, but my portfolio isn’t an extensive as his. My passion is still in writing about God’s word, so building websites is something I can do, but only for a few people.
If you want to hire me to build a website/blog for you, you can do so here: https://www.miltongoh.net/store/p14/website-creation-service-based-in-singapore.html
If you hire me, I will include US$800 worth of free inclusions like suggesting a name (URL) for your domain that boosts your website’s visibility on Google, my eBook guide “How to Use your Weebly Website” to help you confidently use your new website yourself, setting up your email newsletter account and Google Analytics (for tracking website data and growth), as well as suggestions and placement of stock photos for your website.
Here’s to witnessing the next wave of Christian bloggers and digital entrepreneurs succeed in the mission of making the Gospel of Jesus Christ known! 🙌
