"Roadside Economy" in West Africa 西非的「路邊經濟」
A phenomenon I observed throughout the world: the less developed a country is, the more economic activities take place along the street. From Benin, Togo to Ghana, roadside vendors are everywhere, and they sale almost everything you can think of (although primarily they sale food, snacks and drinks). Whenever you stop, or even just slow down, they're ready to catch you. Even when you're stuck in the middle passenger seat, they can easily hand things to you; if you're on a bus, no worries -- they'll come on the bus and bring things in front of you.
With the vibe of the music, this is the rhythm of West Africa I experience everyday while there.
多次旅行中發現的一個定律：一個國家經濟發展程度越低，就越有機會見到多采多姿的「路邊經濟」。從貝南、多哥到迦納的路程，凡是經過任何聚落，路邊一定有著一大堆小販，把食物、零食、飲料⋯⋯以及幾乎你可以想到的任何東西堆在頭上，還不等到你停車，只要稍微減速一點馬上就圍了上來。被擠在後座中間？他們一樣可以伸手把商品遞給你同時找錢；座在大巴士裡面？不用擔心，他們會頂著滿頭商品進來從頭賣到尾。
配上總是節奏強烈的音樂，這就是我在西非那幾天的日常。
