Lavish Grace for Unwise Spenders
“Having therefore, brothers, boldness to enter into the holy place by the blood of Jesus, by the way which he dedicated for us, a new and living way, through the veil, that is to say, his flesh; and having a great priest over God’s house, let’s draw near with a true heart in fullness of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and having our body washed with pure water, let us hold fast the confession of our hope without wavering; for he who promised is faithful.” (Hebrews 10:19-23 WEB)
Perhaps you’re feeling guilty right now for spending money carelessly, and you’re also feeling worried that because of your mistake, your provision will run out during this pandemic season.
The world has a gloomy outlook about the economy, and it may be true for them, but God has plans to provide for His children.
If we look at the Parable of the Prodigal Son, you’ll never find the father depriving the prodigal son of provision just because he squandered it all.
That younger son took the inheritance while his father was still alive, and spent it all. We would expect the father to scold him and put him on probation when he came home.
But that son received no lectures when he got home. Just lavish hugs and kisses. The father immediately commanded his servants to put the family signet ring on the son’s finger.
““He arose, and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him, and was moved with compassion, and ran, and fell on his neck, and kissed him. The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven, and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’ “But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe, and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand, and shoes on his feet.” (Luke 15:20-22 WEB)
This was essentially a blank cheque. He could buy anything, putting it on his father’s “tab”.
Dear brethren, if you have been unwise in your spending, it may trigger the evil conscience in your flesh to think that God is withholding His blessings to ‘teach you a lesson’.
But which good father starves his little child to let him learn a lesson? The apostle John addressed believers in his letter as “little children”.
We have to realize that Abba God is not holding back any blessings from us—He has already given us every spiritual blessing in Christ Jesus.
Every blessing has been approved with a “Yes” and “Amen” in Christ Jesus.
Our own guilt, ignorance and evil conscience can rob us of faith, hindering ourselves from receiving God’s never-ending supply of grace.
“But I sinned by spending money unwisely. I wasn’t a good steward of God’s blessings. Don’t I deserve to be punished?”
On this day of Passover, I exhort you to look to the cross and see Jesus bearing all the punishment, condemnation and rejection for your sins.
This is exactly why we need Jesus. We keep failing and have no power to be perfect on our own, but because of His finished work at the cross, we have been totally forgiven.
This is the righteous basis for you to keep receiving good, even when you fail. It is the Grace of God.
And it is the goodness of God that leads us to repentance (changing our minds) in Christ Jesus.
I’m not advocating unwise, exorbitant spending habits, but I’m saying that if you have failed in that area, there is no condemnation for you.
Abba God will save you from your bad financial situation, and make sure that you have no lack. As you experience this lavish grace, you will be transformed and become a better steward of God’s blessings.
“Don’t I have to do something to fix this mess that I created?”
Yes, your part is to believe God’s word. Believe that you have forgiveness of sins, that you are still righteous in Christ, and that you are blessed by Grace through faith, not by deserving it with your works.
The way that God has designed for His children to increase in provision, to go from barely surviving to wealthy, is through the grace of giving.
Be a channel of His love in this very practical area. Giving breaks the love for money and makes you more obedient to the leading of the Holy Spirit.
If you can give of your resources, there’s very few things that you wouldn’t yield to God.
Instead of being unwise in spending on personal pleasures, why not be a generous giver? Give lavishly because you’ll always receive much more through that. Be a “prodigal son”—prodigal in giving, not in spending! Shalom 🙏
If the Holy Spirit leads you, you can partner with our ministry by being a giver this Passover.
A portion of your giving goes to helping a ministry of Christian Jews to complete a Messianic Bible translation to evangelize to Israel by explaining the prophecies about the Messiah (Jesus/Yeshua).
Another portion goes to schooling impoverished children of Christian families and feeding widows and orphans in India and Kenya.

“If you falter in the time of trouble, your strength is small. Rescue those who are being led away to death! Indeed, hold back those who are staggering to the slaughter! If you say, “Behold, we didn’t know this”; doesn’t he who weighs the hearts consider it? He who keeps your soul, doesn’t he know it? Shall he not render to every man according to his work?” (Proverbs 24:10-12 WEB)
Times of crisis like this reveal what Christians really believe.
In stable times, it is easy to say that you trust Jesus, but when an enemy appears to threaten the world, are you crippled by worry and fear?
Your first reaction reveals what is in your heart.
If you are afraid, there is no condemnation, but it is just a good indication of how deeply you are rooted in Christ’s love.
Another thing is, the passage above continues to talk about winning souls.
Times of trouble may be bad for the world, but they are also good opportunities for the Gospel of Jesus Christ to go forth.
In times of stability , people may feel like that they don’t need God. But when things spiral out of control and they feel vulnerable, their hearts become like ground that has been loosened, fertile enough for God’s word to grow in.
The other night as I was worshipping God, I received this strongly in my spirit: “Something much more infectious and powerful than COVID-19 is the Gospel of Jesus Christ spreading even faster thanks to the worldwide shaking that this virus caused. Where the virus travels, the good news of forgiveness of sins in Jesus spreads even faster and more gloriously!”
While the world’s hearts are fainting because of fear, we the children of God should see it from the godly perspective that God is using what the devil meant for evil to be for mankind’s good.
Souls are being saved at a rate like never before. There is a greater openness to the Gospel right now which means it’s a good time to share about Jesus to unbelievers who are feeling fearful or worried about the virus.
If you catch this revelation, respond by being part of one of the great end-time harvests, right before Jesus returns to receive the church to Himself.
There are precious eternal rewards to be won for those who wisely win souls for God’s kingdom.
However don’t feel pressurized you go out and evangelize by your own strength.
Ask Jesus to give you opportunities to sow the Gospel in someone’s heart today as you go about your daily life. An encouraging word, a gesture of kindness, an invitation to church, all these can go a long way for a discouraged unbeliever.
There’s much more revelations about eternal rewards that I want to share with you, but it will take whole book for you to understand and digest these truths.

“to reach out to the Muslim population.”
Jawapannya mudah. Dalam buku “Vision 2020 : A Malaysian Christian Response - Theoloji Wawasan 2020” halaman 103 ada jawapannya;
“Basically the church has a one and only mission:- to evangelize. That is the commandment of our Lord (Matthew 28:19).... In an affluent, educated and multiracial society evangelisation is very difficult. But still we must obey the Commandment! The future, though looks tough, is in fact a golden opportunity to evangelize Malaysia.”
(Secara asasnya, gereja hanya memiliki satu misi iaitu: penginjilan! Itulah perintah Tuhan kita (Matius 28:19)....
Ayuhhhhhhh.....
