The BFI London Film Festival (LFF) has just announced its nominees this year. “Samsara” will be available in the UK this October!
The LFF has been held every October since 1953, gathering all the excellent films and productions around the world. The festival attracts international films professionals and media, providing a platform for fans to see all the outstanding works.

The 78th Venice International Film Festival has come to a close on Sep 11. After the great success of the satellite screening project last year, all selected films in the Expanded category were also shown online. The exhibition online has also been extended to Sep 19, which is available in a total of 14 Satellite Venues in ten countries around the world.
Last time, we’ve seen the live show from Istanbul, and this time, we get to see “Samsara” in Portland!

第78屆威尼斯影展已在9/11落幕，繼2020 年的全球放映衛星計畫大獲成功後，今年再次線上展映 Expanded 項目入圍的作品，線上展期更是延長至9/19 ，同時在其他10個國家共計14個衛星場館展出。

‘BABI’ adalah sebuah filem yang dilakonkan semula berdasarkan sebuah peristiwa benar. Filem ini memberi gambaran mengenai sebuah rusuhan perkauman yang berlaku di sebuah sekolah, pada tahun 2000 di Selatan Malaysia.
‘BABI’ tidak direncana untuk ditayangkan di Malaysia. Oleh yang demikian, anggaran untuk filem ini sangat terhad, saya hanya mempunyai modal yang sedikit untuk manghabiskan pembikinan projek ini. Ia mengakibatkan seluruh proses menjadi sukar dan menyakitkan. Saya ingin mengucapkan terima kasih kepada rakan-rakan dari semua kaum, iaitu Melayu, Cina, dan India, kerana bekerjasama untuk menyiapkan filem yang bermakna ini. Kami telah menerima pencalonan antarabangsa! Ini adalah kebanggaan Malaysia! Saya berharap pada masa akan datang lebih ramai yang akan mengetahui mengenai filem ini dan dapat menontonnya. Malaysia Boleh!

オリンピックスノーボード競技出場を巡り、アマチュアスポーツ団体の利権争いに巻き込まれたスノーボーダーたちの苦悩や葛藤をラップミュージックに合わせて描く問題作。
A controversial story of snowboarders in the Olympic games who are caught up in an amateur sports organizer's power game. The film depicts the athletes' struggle and conflict through the beats and rhymes of rap music.
未成年の飲酒喫煙写真でスキャンダルに巻き込まれたスノーボード日本代表ヒロトは、全国生中継が入る記者会見場で謝罪をするも、冬季スポーツ連盟の岩谷会長に代表取消しを告げられ、岩谷は新たな日本代表に幼馴染のシュウを指名する…。怒りが収まらないヒロトは心を癒してくれる雪山へと向かう。 しかしそこでファンに囲まれ楽しげなシュウと満足げな岩谷に出くわしてしまう。 その様子を見たヒロトは怒りではなく同情の思いが頭をかすめる。
そして、スキャンダルの元なった写真の真相が明らかになっていく。
Hiroto, a snowboarder on the Japanese national team, is at a press conference to apologize for his underage drinking and smoking photo scandal in front of reporters and a nationwide audience. Iwatani, the chairman of the winter sports federation, removes Hiroto (without his knowledge) from the national team and replaces him with Shu, an old friend of Hiroto. Hiroto heads to the snowy mountain to cool down his uncontrollable rage.
However, he comes across Shu surrounded by fans, followed by the blissful Iwatani. Instead of anger, Hiroto just feels pity for his old friend.
The truth behind the picture that started the media fire is finally revealed.

Amazing JIRO, special effects and body paint artist teams up with Jon Boogz, director and choreographer for NO STRINGS to share a compelling and striking visual narrative about emancipating ourselves to incite social change.
＜Artists Bio＞
Amazing JIRO - After graduating Tokyo University of the Arts and entering the world of special effect makeup, JIRO established JUR Co., Ltd.
Currently, JIRO works not only as special effects makeup artist but also as a creative director in film, drama, TVCM, and other fields. His power of expression and solid techniques are highly praised by people in and out of Japan. JIRO is attracting attention as a reformer of face paint, SFX makeup, and art.
After winning 2 championships at TV TOKYO TV Champion – Special Effect Makeup Artists Championship, JIRO became a certified champion. He was also introduced as one of the “Make-up Around the World: the Global Family of Artists on Make-Up Magazine,” which is read in more than 70 countries.
He creates artwork with advanced painting techniques and is attracting the world with his powerful ideas and quality works.
Jon Boogz is a movement artist, choreographer, and director who seeks to push the evolution of what dance can be – sharing with audiences of all backgrounds an appreciation of the melding of art forms while inspiring and bringing awareness to social issues.
Originally motivated to dance by the work of Michael Jackson, Boogz has choreographed for notable icons including Mikhail Baryshnikov, Naomi Campbell, Gloria Estefan; for Pharrell’s Adidas Originals HU Campaign to creative direct, choreography, and perform in Standing Rock at ComplexCon; and as creative consultant for ads launching campaigns for Apple and Lexus. Boogz’s collaborators include TriBeCa Film Festival, DAIS, Lil Buck, and Flying Lotus; his choreography is used in FOX’s “So You Think You Can Dance”; Cirque du Soleil’s MJ ONE; he was featured at the Geffen Playhouse’s “Backstage at the Geffen” with his dance company Control Freakz, Lil Buck, and spoken word artist Robin Sanders; and at TED Vancouver’s TED Prize session.
Boogz wrote, choreographed, directed and danced in Color of Reality, a short film in collaboration with visual artist Alexa Meade. The work continues to receive coverage internationally and won Great Big Story’s Art as Impact Award; Best Experimental at Toronto International Short Film Festival; and Concept Video of the Year from World of Dance, among others. His forthcoming projects seek to merge movement with fine art, film, technology, and the stage.
