What can I say? The Iberico Secreto by Seoul with homemade Kimchi and Ssamjang by 1-Michelin-Star Dosa Seoul stop me from chatting and focus only on eating with that melt in the mouth texture and to live for kimchi. While we can't travel anytime soon, food like these that allow me to voyage the globe does appeal to my tummy and appease the travel bug in me. So do make your table reservation if you haven't. Is it investing or just gambling?

It’s one of the year’s biggest market stories: Mom-and-pop investors have fallen back in love with stocks, lured by free trading apps, a resurgent bull market led by technology companies and a pandemic that has left millions of Americans at home with little to do.

New data show a number of ways in which the individual-trading boom has reshaped the U.S. stock market. Here are five takeaways:

During the first six months of this year, individual investors accounted for 19.5% of the shares traded in the U.S stock market, up from 14.9% last year and nearly double the level from 2010, Mr. Tabb estimates.

In fact, such activity doesn’t matter much for most stocks, according to Nick Maggiulli, chief operating officer of Ritholtz Wealth Management. But there is evidence of a Robinhood effect in some smaller stocks, he said.

Many Asian stock markets have traditionally been dominated by individual investors, unlike the institution-heavy U.S. market. In places such as mainland China, frenzied trading by individuals can create a casino-like feel, with exuberant bull runs followed by spectacular crashes.

Individuals often account for more than 80% of volume on the Shanghai Stock Exchange, while on the Korea Exchange’s main Kospi market, nearly 84% of shares traded so far this year were on behalf of individual investors, according to data compiled by Hee-Joon Ahn, a finance professor at Sungkyunkwan University in Seoul.

The individual-investing boom has led to historically high levels of “dark” trading, in which stocks are bought and sold on opaque private venues, rather than public exchanges. That is because online brokers typically funnel small investors’ trades to electronic-trading firms that execute the incoming orders.

In July, 43.2% of U.S. stock-trading volume took place off-exchange, according to Rosenblatt Securities, a brokerage firm. That is the highest level that the firm has recorded since it started tracking such data in 2008.

The three biggest players in that business—Citadel Securities, Virtu Financial Inc. and Susquehanna International Group LLP—traded a combined 69.4 billion shares over the counter in June, more than triple the level from November, according to Bloomberg Intelligence. The vast majority of the firms’ over-the-counter trades come from individual investors. OTC trading is a type of off-exchange trading.

Electronic-trading firms profit from individuals’ trades by collecting a small difference between the buying and selling prices of a stock. It’s hard to know how much money they are making, though, because most are private and don’t report financials.

想食韓式炸雞的話，我必定二話不說就揀這裡🍺 但本人只去尖沙咀店！雖然旺角店面積比較大，但食物質素有點令人失望。
반반치킨 雙拼炸雞 ($192HKD) 半半炸雞，顧名思義就是可以選兩款不同口味的炸雞！我通常會揀原味和甜辣醬。原味雞雖然沒有被淋上調味料，但因為餐廳會分開附上四種醬汁，所以你就有隨意去點不同醬汁的自由了🤤 而甜辣醬是Oppa本來在韓國就非常喜愛的味道，韓文叫양념치킨🇰🇷 碟上還有三種不同的薯條，是個熱氣大派對🍟 所以我一定叫杯啤酒清熱～
另外我還有兩樣必點items: 泡菜煎餅 ($98HKD) + 炭豚飯捲 ($88HKD)。這裡的泡菜煎餅簡直是神級😍 旁邊煎得脆脆的，辣味適中，非常惹味！
When I want my fix of Korean fried chicken, @outdarkhk in #TsimShaTsui is the one and only obvious option🍺 They do have a larger shop in Mong Kok, but I personally think the food quality in TST is much much better😍
BanBan Chicken ($192HKD) means you get to choose a combination of 2 flavours for your fried chicken platter! I often go for the Original Fried chicken plus the Sweet & Sour one. Altho the Original one has no seasoning drizzled over it, the restaurant gives a separate plate with four different sauces, which means you get to dip the chicken into whatever flavouring you want🤤 The Sweet & Sour option is what I’d always order when I was in Seoul, it’s 한국의 맛, a real taste of Korea!🇰🇷
Also, I’d always order these two items as well: Kimchi PaJeon/Pancake ($98HKD) & Charcoal Pork Kimbap ($88HKD). The Kimchi Pajeon is always pan-fried to a golden crisp and just moderately spicy🌶 Love it!
