協助非洲對抗 #伊波拉 病毒】
#台灣 應邀參與 #世界衛生組織非洲區署、#非洲聯盟疾病管制署、#西非衛生組織、#剛果、#幾內亞 及 #美國 政府於美東時間本（3）月26日舉行 #強化非洲對抗伊波拉病毒韌性及應處 線上高階會議。
美國國務卿布林肯及世界衛生組織幹事長譚德塞均出席致詞，我國駐美代表蕭美琴大使及衛生福利部疾病管制署署長周志浩應邀與會，一同因應近來非洲剛果及幾內亞爆發兩起伊波拉病毒感染案件。
台灣將捐助25萬美元，協助對抗伊波拉疫情。蕭代表於會中發言指出，武漢肺炎（COVID-19）疫情肆虐全球，已經證明疾病無國界，在這關鍵時刻，國際社會更應攜手合作，確保所有國家及個人均能獲得醫療照顧及衛生安全。
我們不斷以具體行動證明「台灣能夠幫忙，也正在幫忙」。沒有國家能獨自面對任何疫情襲擊，國際合作才是成功抗疫的唯一途徑。
台灣有意願也有能力為國際社會防疫體系做出貢獻，我們會繼續推動實質參與 #WHO 等全球衛生體系，使更多國家的人民受惠，也使國際共同防疫合作更具成效。
不論何處何時，台灣永遠都願意提供協助。
#Taiwan was invited to take part in the High-Level Event to Strengthen Africa's Resilience and Response to #Ebola and has announced that it will make a donation to help #Africa in the fight against the epidemic.
The meeting comes in the wake of the recent Ebola infections in the Democratic Republic of the Congo and Republic of Guinea and was co-hosted by the United States, the Africa Centers for Disease Control (CDC), the World Health Organization Regional Office for Africa (WHO/AFRO), the West African Health Organization (WAHO), and the governments of the Congo and Guinea.
Ambassador Bi-khim Hsiao and Taiwan CDC Director General Jih-haw Chou took part in the virtual meeting alongside other representatives from countries in Africa and the EU, which opened with addresses from US Secretary of State Antony Blinken and WHO General Director Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus.
Ambassador Hsiao pointed out in the meeting that the spread of the #COVID19 pandemic across the globe is proof that #DiseaseKnowsNoBorders, and so, at this critical moment, the international community should join together in cooperation to ensure that every country and every person can secure medical care and public health. Taiwan has done its best to work with the US and other international partners to respond to the threat of the Ebola virus, donating PPE and providing aid. Taiwan will now donate an additional sum to help with the Ebola epidemic.
Taiwan is committed to continuing to work with African countries, the US and other like-minded countries for the betterment of the global public health system.
