【童畫足印親子工作坊🦶🏻🎨】
透過色調、筆觸、選材都反映了創作者的想法，你多久沒有執筆繪畫呢？是次工作坊藝術家葉雯將會分享個人創作的藝術經驗， 並誠邀家長與小孩一同以繪畫記錄身體， 創作出獨有的紀念作品，讓繪畫留在當下。
導師簡介: 葉雯 Manny Yip
葉雯⽣於香港，2017年獲墨爾本皇家理⼯⼤學與香港藝術學院合辦之榮譽學⼠，主修繪畫。創作圍繞記憶、童年和⾃我探究過程，以過去與想像建造出⾃有抽象及開放的詮釋空間。2017年獲香港特別⾏政區政府獎學基⾦外展體驗獎，於保加利亞及芝加哥進⾏藝術家駐留計劃，2019年獲藝發局新苗藝術資助展覽《某年某地》，作品先後於香港、美國及東歐展出。葉⽒曾被邀與多個⽂化及商業單位合作聯乘創作，並策劃藝術教育活動。
【Painting with Child Workshop 🦶🏻🎨】
Creation is an innate ability born with, we know drawing before writing, while painting is one of the most primitive ways of creation. The colour, brushstrokes and selection of themes all reflect the artist’s thoughts. How long have you not been painting? In this workshop, Manny will share her personal artistic experience, and sincerely invite participants to record their bodies with children through painting, creating unique artwork.
Tutor introduction:
Manny Yip (Hong Kong) received BAFA at Royal Melbourne Institute of Technology University (co- presented with Hong Kong Art School), major in painting in 2017. Her works capture senses of childhood innocence which are both reflections of her memories and yearnings. The abstraction and openness of the spatial interpretation in her works also speak for themselves. They are not merely an obsession with the past, but also an inviting space for viewers to freely associate with their own memories and imaginations.
She has been awarded the Reaching Out Award (2017) which included artist residency programmes in Bulgaria & Chicago, and Grant for Emerging Artists (2019) from Hong Kong Arts Development Council. Her artworks were collected by private collectors and exhibited in several cities, Hong Kong, United States and Europe. She has also been invited as a selected artist by commercial corporations and as a programme instructor for schools.

【 #聯署聲明 | 6.26 聯合國國際支持酷刑受害者日 】

#呼籲國際持續關注中國酷刑問題
#敦促中國履行締約義務 #包括落實有效措施禁止一切形式酷刑

1987 年 6 月 26 日聯合國《禁止酷刑和其他殘忍、不人道或有辱人格的待遇或處罰公約》(簡稱《禁止酷刑公約》)正式生效。至 1997 年，這一天被定為「國際支持酷刑受害者日」。

今年是《禁止酷刑公約》的 34 周年紀念，我們以下聯署團體及個人謹此呼籲國際社會團結一致並堅定不懈地監督中國的酷刑問題，這對推動中國政府正視其人權違反狀況，至為關鍵。

中國為《禁止酷刑公約》的首批締約國，卻從未顯示其消除酷刑的決心。我們不忘聯合國人權專家多年來透過與中國政府的對話，提出對中國酷刑與不人道待遇問題的關注和憂慮。即如專家多次強調作爲締約成員，中國政府務須依據國際人權標準及原則，為酷刑定義，修訂刑法及刑訴程序，規範行政及執法權力，整理數據，完善監督問責機制等。

但令人遺憾的是中國政府對專家的大部分建議和呼籲，置若罔聞，而酷刑受害人亦鮮有成功申訴、索償或是追究刑責的例子。

中國政府背道而行，近年不斷強化嚴刑峻法、以含糊虛泛的國安之名，拓張行政和執法權力、將諸如「指定居所監視居住」以及其他不同形式的長期羈押和任意拘禁合理合法化，縱容酷刑繼續存在，將申訴人滅聲，令司法制度進一步扭曲。

根據酷刑受害人的報告指出，他/ 她們在關押期間，曾遭遇的酷刑和不人道的對待包括受襲、毆打、電擊、強迫長時間固定動作、幽禁、剝奪睡眠和足夠食物以至言語侮辱、威嚇和脅迫等等。

就此，我們深切關注近期關於北京丁家喜律師、法律學者許志永、廣東人權捍衛者牛騰宇曾在羈押期間遭受酷刑的報道。

此外，我們仍然憂慮以下各人的身心以及精神健康狀態:
- 陝西人權律師常瑋平，疑因公開自己在 2020 年年初曾受酷刑後，同年 10 月被帶走，至今音訊全無。
- 長沙公益仨人程淵、劉永澤和吳葛健雄;從 2019 年 7 月被羈押後至今音訊全無。
- 北京女權倡議者李翹楚，研究員，2021 年 2 月被帶走，至 3 月正式逮捕，至今無法會見律師及家人。
- 北京人權律師余文生，被判四年徒刑，現於南京服刑中。

除牛騰宇外，上述各人均被控以國安相關罪名，並因而被其本國法律剝奪會見律師的權利，直接增加其遭受酷刑的風險。

我們要進一步指出，近年有報告揭露，在中國酷刑除了被用來針對個別異見和維權人士外，更已被發展成為臣服新疆少數民族的系統性手段，也是管控和鎮壓其他少數民族地區的工具。

就著這些嚴重的關切，我們呼籲中國政府與相關的聯合國人權專家充分合作;亦即是作爲優先事項，允許國際人權專家，包括聯合國人權事務高級專員，立即前往新疆，並在尊重高級專員提出的條件下，讓她不受限禁，進入當地維吾爾族、哈薩克族、回族、吉爾吉斯族及其他受影響社區作有意義的接觸探訪。

我們重申，作爲《禁止酷刑公約》的締約國，中國政府必須履行其締約義務，以積極認真態度面對聯合國專家的關切，並竭力消除其國内的酷刑和不人道對待問題。

我們再次確認國際人權原則和標準，呼籲中國據此改革其刑事訴訟程序和機制:

1. 立即釋放所有被不符合國際人權準則程序關押和囚禁的律師、人權捍衛者以及公民。
2. 承認不受酷刑為不可克減權利的特殊性，不能以國內法給予但書。
3. 以《禁止酷刑公約》爲本，將酷刑的定義納入中國法規;並據此檢視修訂其《刑事訴訟法》，包括但不限於廢除任意羈押和長期拘留、確保會見自選律師的權利等。
4. 制定可及、透明和有效的酷刑投訴機制，以確保受害人可以申索救濟和補償，而加害者得以被法律追究。
5. 設立包含官方和非官方專家的獨立委員會，監督《禁止酷刑公約》在中國有效落實。

作爲此聲明的聯署團體及個人，我們承諾將繼續為中國的人權狀況發聲，並共同努力，推動在中國和世界範圍內消除酷刑。

香港民族位處於中國邊陲，努力尋找屬於自己的身份和歷史。香港大學學生會特意邀請了《想象的共同體：民族主義的起源和散佈》譯者吳叡人先生為我們分享，透過比較沖繩、香港及台灣民族主義的興起和流變，引發我們對於「自我」與「他者」的思辨。

At the periphery of China, the Hong Kong nationality has been pursuing our own identity and history. HKUSU has now invited Dr Wu Rwei-ren, the translator of ‘Imagined Communities: Reflections on the Origins and Spread of Nationalism’, to share his thoughts on such issue. A comparison of the rise and change of nationalism among Okinawa, Hong Kong, and Taiwan shall surely inspire our thoughts on the meaning of ‘ourselves’ and ‘the others’.

From Taoyuan, Taiwan, Dr Wu graduated from the Department of Political Science at the National Taiwan University and earned his doctoral degree from the University of Chicago in politics with a research focus on comparative politics and political theory. As the translator of ‘Imagined Communities: Reflections on the Origins and Spread of Nationalism’, he was formerly the Chair Professor at the School of Political Science and Economics at the Waseda University, Japan. He is currently the associate research fellow at the Institute of Taiwan History of the Academia Sinica.

Mr Lee is a former Feature Editor of Undergrad, HKUSU and one of the writers of ‘Hong Kong Nationalism’. He is a student from the Faculty of Social Sciences of HKU and is currently majoring in Politics and Public Administration and History.

Leo Ho was the champion in the Test Piece Adult solo category in the World Harmonica Festival in 2013. The class has been known as the highest level of chromatic harmonica solo competition in the world.


Ho Cheuk-yin, Leo

Nineteen-year-old Leo Ho Cheuk-yin is now studying at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Leo started to learn harmonica at the age of 6 under Mr. Cheung Kin-ling and 1 year later, under the tuition of harmonica virtuoso Mr. Lee Sheung-ching. In 2003, his first exposure in competition earned him 3rd prize in the Junior Chromatic Harmonica Solo competition of the 1st Hong Kong Harmonica Festival. Since then, he has won many local and international awards, including three 1st prizes in Harmonica Solo of the Hong Kong Schools Music Festival, 3rd prize in Junior Chromatic Harmonica Solo of the 5th Asia Pacific Harmonica Festival (APHF) 2004 in Hong Kong, as well as champion in Junior Harmonica Duo and 2nd prize in Junior Chromatic Harmonica Solo category of the 6th APHF 2006 in Taiwan. At the 7th APHF 2008 in Hangzhou, Leo swept the board by winning in all 5 categories he had entered, namely Chromatic Harmonica Solo, Duo, Trio and Ensemble of the Secondary School Class, as well as Open Class Harmonica Orchestra. In 2009, Leo made his debut in the World Harmonica Festival and Competition in Germany and excelled among all contestants by seizing the champion in Youth Solo and Duo competitions, as well as 2nd prizes in Open Class Ensemble and Orchestra competitions. In 2010, Leo being the youngest contestant in the class competed for the first time in the open category harmonica solo at the 8th APHF in Singapore and won the 1st runner up. Two years later in 2012, he had joined the 9th APHF again in Malaysia and got four championships and a 2nd runners up in the open and adult categories, including the championship in the Elite Solo open category. The piece Invierno Porteno was arranged by Leo himself.
