最近有位Youtuber (GoldenSound) 在ASR上寫了一篇MQA分析文搞得滿城風雨

MQA從推出以來就一直被人詬病不透明，因為Encoding的設備和演算法都掌握在
Meridian手上。而且保持得非常神秘，發明人Bob Stuart被問到細節時常常
顧左右而言他，又因為編碼不公開，所以像是filter, impulse ringing特性都
很難分析。

不過有個好傢伙想到了個方法，就是假裝是音樂發行人，把訊號測試當作
音樂發表到Tidal上編成MQA後就可以串流下來分析。

不過一開始的太過白目直接把1kHz訊號當作音樂發行被演算法發現後退稿。
所以GoldenSound他就把測試訊號混在音樂當中再送去MQA驗證一次後就通過了。
然後他就用Tidal把他發行的音樂(測試訊號)串流下來做一些數位分析。
之後把這份分析報告寄去MQA質問一些為何與宣傳不符的問題。

然後當然測試音樂就被下架了，官方有回一封信數落他的測試很有問題。
作者後來說這些官方所說的低級錯誤他都有避開，除了Dither他沒測到
(他有把有Dither過後和沒Dither的訊號混在測試檔中，頻譜分析時沒做完整)
但現在測試檔被下架他也沒辦法再測一次了

之後就開始羅生門了

簡單節錄幾個原作者提出有趣的點:

1. 雖然官方文件上寫說是(聽覺)無損。但MQA不管有沒有解碼都 "不是" lossless
(這個好像大家都知道了)，其實很多時候大部分人討厭MQA的原因之一就是這些
MQA SPEC文件寫得很....dodgy

2. MQA格式如果不解碼的話會有很糟糕的impulse rining, 然後高頻會有大量雜訊
官方文件上是說不解碼也可以完整還原CD redbook訊號。但事實不是如此
(這算是MQA演算法本身特色的一部分，一部分訊號壓縮在16k-22k)

3. MQA 認證 (MQA Authentication) 是個MQA內建的解碼流程，認證成功可以點燈
官方文件說這個認證程序可以保證訊號是完整而且符合音樂發行人的原始調音的。
但有人發現你可以把MQA檔案刪掉30%的訊號，但是還是可以通過認證點燈，所以
作者基本上認為這個根本只是個信仰燈，沒啥屁用。

4. 而經過MQA full decode的訊號 (作者是用iFi iDSD Diablo做full decode)
作者說的確部分的高頻訊息是可以被MQA unfold重新產生的。
但因為MQA的濾波特性，在高頻還是會有不少mirror雜訊。

5. 如果你想乾脆就不要聽MQA就好了，在Tidal上改聽FLAC總沒問題了吧?
作者發現如果在Tidal上的音樂如果是有MQA版本的話，則FLAC版本的內容
其實就是MQA無解碼的版本 (也就是說Tidal上聽FLAC是最慘的情況，無解碼
所產生的大量ghosting和ringing)

6. 大部分的MQA都是從44.1khz upsampling上去的，而不是錄製時就是hi-res。
所以還不如載44.1khz自己upsampling還比較少問題。
(這樣做的原因主要猜測是Tidal音樂掛MQA可以多收權利金)


好險最近澳洲Qobuz開了，準備跳槽中 XDDD
最近是Qobuz和Tidal雙開，Tidal我覺得比較有優勢的一點是電影配樂和遊戲音樂
比較豐富。哀 跳平台好多音樂要整理好累~~~
