Water is Coming to you
“He said, “Yahweh says, ‘Make this valley full of trenches.’ For Yahweh says, ‘You will not see wind, neither will you see rain, yet that valley will be filled with water, and you will drink, both you and your livestock and your other animals. This is an easy thing in Yahweh’s sight. He will also deliver the Moabites into your hand. You shall strike every fortified city, and every choice city, and shall fell every good tree, and stop all springs of water, and mar every good piece of land with stones.’” In the morning, about the time of offering the sacrifice, behold, water came by the way of Edom, and the country was filled with water. Now when all the Moabites heard that the kings had come up to fight against them, they gathered themselves together, all who were able to put on armor, young and old, and stood on the border. They rose up early in the morning, and the sun shone on the water, and the Moabites saw the water opposite them as red as blood. They said, “This is blood. The kings are surely destroyed, and they have struck each other. Now therefore, Moab, to the plunder!” When they came to the camp of Israel, the Israelites rose up and struck the Moabites, so that they fled before them; and they went forward into the land attacking the Moabites.” (2 Kings 3:16-24 WEB)
The Israel army coalition had no water to drink for seven days. They were thirsty and asked the prophet Elisha to inquire of the Lord Yahweh.
The Lord’s instruction was to make the valley full of trenches, in preparation to collect the water.
Yet you may wonder where is the water going to come from if there is no wind or rain?
Sometimes, when the Lord asks you to get into position, just do it without trying to reason it out.
He said to make the valley full of trenches, meaning GET READY TO RECEIVE.
How much water do you want to catch? The more trenches you dig, the more water you will store, if not the water will come, but it will just flow away.
The Lord allows you to choose how much you want to act upon His rhema word. If you have faith, you will make the valley of your life full of trenches, ready to receive from Him.
The water came by the way of Edom. It is not your job to know how the water comes. The point is, the water WILL come because the Lord has commanded it.
The water had a double purpose for the Israel coalition. It satiated their thirst, and it also became an important military tactic used by the Lord to defeat Israel’s enemies.
The water that you collect in the coming days will enable you to defeat enemies in your life.
Everyone’s “trenches” are different—you will know what yours is. Whatever the Lord has put into your heart to do, remember that you can choose how much water you will collect, based on how many trenches you make.
Do not waste time questioning, “How will the water come? How is it possible?” The water is coming so it is time to get in position!

Rewarded in Due Season
“Don’t be deceived. God is not mocked, for whatever a man sows, that he will also reap. For he who sows to his own flesh will from the flesh reap corruption. But he who sows to the Spirit will from the Spirit reap eternal life. Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don’t give up. So then, as we have opportunity, let’s do what is good toward all men, and especially toward those who are of the household of the faith.” (Galatians 6:7-10 WEB)
Being saved is not a reward. It is a free gift that anyone can receive immediately once he believes and confesses Jesus Christ as Lord.
However, there are Christians who spend their new life after being saved focused on sowing to the flesh.
“Be diligent to come to me soon, for Demas left me, having loved this present world, and went to Thessalonica; Crescens to Galatia, and Titus to Dalmatia. Only Luke is with me. Take Mark, and bring him with you, for he is useful to me for service.” (2 Timothy 4:9-11 WEB)
An example is Demas, who was one of the apostle Paul’s fellow ministry workers. Demas forsook Paul to live a worldly life in Thessalonica—pursuing the temporal pleasures of the world. He could not stand the hardships and persecutions of ministry which are really not easy, and he lost sight of the reward.
We all grow “weary” at times, feeling impatient and disappointed when our doing good goes unappreciated or unrewarded by men. This comes from the prideful flesh which craves instant gratification.
To counter this, we need to be constantly reminded that God will reward us in due season. Not in this mortal lifetime, but when we finally stand before His throne.
When you “reap eternal life”, it means you receive eternal rewards that are incorruptible, and that will last forever. That is true life indeed.
The condition for reaping rewards is that you “don’t give up”. Let’s keep encouraging each other.
Those who sow seeds only reap harvests if they water the wheat all the way to maturity. Likewise, let us not be like Demas who forsook Paul halfway through, but be like Luke who stayed with Paul, even though everyone else already left.
“I have fought the good fight. I have finished the course. I have kept the faith. From now on, there is stored up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous judge, will give to me on that day; and not to me only, but also to all those who have loved his appearing.” (2 Timothy 4:7-8 WEB)
There is a crown of righteousness for those who faithfully serve the Lord without forsaking Him. Let us not be content with just being saved, but to run for the prize that the righteous judge will give to us.
The question is no longer “Am I saved,” but “What will be my reward?” Keep your eyes on Jesus and He will lead you day by day, little by little.
It’s nothing drastic or dramatic. God knows how to guide you at a suitable pace, and before you know it, you have done much more than you ever dreamed possible—all by relying on His grace.
It’s like a dance of grace. Let Him take you by the hand, and you only need to keep in step with Him. Even if you got hurt by thankless men, still persist in doing good. Be refreshed by a warm bath in God’s word, and carry on. You will not lose your rewards!

Kos masa, kos renyah buat kuih, kos elektrik, semua tu makcik pun tak pandai la nak kira macam mana," jawab makcik.
"5 suku," jawab Nora.
"Adik pelanggan kedua makcik hari ni," jawab makcik itu. "Berapa ringgit makcik untung jualan atas adik? RM1, RM1.20."
Nora diam sahaja.
"Berapa biji kuih pelanggan pertama makcik beli tadi? Tiga," kata makcik itu sambil mengangkat jari. "Katalah makcik untung dengan dia RM1.00. Dari jam 10 pagi sampai sekarang, makcik baru untung RM2.20."
Tak pernah Nora terfikir semua itu sebelum ini.
"Dulu makcik jual goreng pisang, yang tu untung dia banyak sikit, tapi lepas anak makcik dah masuk sambung belajar, makcik tak larat nak buat," beritahu makcik tu. "Tu kuih ketayap yang adik beli tu, berapa lama adik rasa satu biji kuih tu nak siap?"
"Sejam lebih," agak Nora lagi. "Nampak macam leceh nak membuatnya tu. Maaf makcik, saya nak tanya, kalau tak untung, kenapa makcik meniaga?"
Makcik itu merenung muka Nora.
"Sebab ada ramai orang Melayu nak makan kuih Melayu, kalau makcik tak meniaga, siapa lagi yang nak meniaga kuih Melayu," jawab makcik itu. "Makcik suka meniaga. Lagipun makcik bukan pandai buat benda lain dah sebenarnya. "
Makcik itu menyusun bekas-bekas kuih yang ada, "tapi maaflah dik takut adik terasa, makcik nak kata, orang Melayu kita sekarang ni pelik dik."
Nora terdiam tertanya-tanya. "Pelik macam mana tu Cik?"
"Orang kita makan donut sebijik RM3 tak apa, sushi sebijik RM2 tak apa, tapi bila cerita pasal kuih tepi jalan, 50 sen sebiji, mahal," Makcik itu senyum.
Nora terdiam lagi.
"Adik pernah cuba buat kuih orang kita?" tanya makcik itu tiba-tiba.
"Tak pernah lagi, kuih bahulu ada la saya cuba buat masa raya dulu," jawab Nora.
"Berapa sen adik rasa berbaloi nak jual kuih bahulu sebiji yang adik buat dari mula sampai siap?" tanya makcik tu.
Nora hanya diam.
Nora diam sahaja mendengar.
"Makcik orang Melayu. Makcik boleh meniaga sushi ke, dorayaki ke, harga pun sebijik 2 ringgit, jual 10 dah macam untung makcik sehari, barang pun ambik dari pembekal, tak perlu renyah-renyah buat semua," kata makcik tu.
"Tapi dik, kalau makcik buat macam tu, siapa lagi nak jual kuih-kuih ni dekat adik?" tanya makcik tu.
"Kalau makcik mati nanti, anak-anak makcik semua dah tak mau buat kuih. Yang perempuan pun tak minat nak belajar macam mana, nanti-nanti takkan la semua orang Melayu nak makan sushi dengan donut aje hari-hari?" Makcik itu menghulurkan duit RM3 semula kepada Nora.
"Eh, makcik, ni kan duit kuih saya," kata Nora.
"Makcik tak nak duit kau dik, makcik sedekah. Tiap-tiap orang yang beli kuih dengan makcik dan dia kata mahal, makcik bagi balik duit kat dia dan makcik sedekahkan," jawab makcik itu.
"Kenapa pula makcik?" tanya Nora kehairanan.
"Sebab kalau orang Melayu tak nak tolong orang Melayu yang tak mampu, tak ada orang lain lagi yang akan tolong orang kita," jawab makcik itu.
"Saya mampu makcik," balas Nora.
"50 sen sebiji adik kata mahal, tak mampu lah tu," kata makcik itu tersenyum, ikhlas.

Is Malay bankrup yet?
Cake salesman chat with a young Malay girl in a career, I'm just earning it 🌹
′′ Auntie, give this cake 2, this is 3," says Nora.
′′ I don't want to add another one to give enough three ringgit?" ask the aunt.
′′ 50 cents a cake? Why is this so expensive miss?" ask Nora in a match. ′′ Well, I added another piece."
The auntie pinched the pink layered the pink layer and put it in white plastic, then put it into a small plastic yellow color.
′′ Even 50 cents a piece, luckily it's not a lot bro," that aunt replied.
′′ Is this right miss?" asked Nora again.
′′ As much as I sell 50 cents. Fortunately 20 cents at least, 30 cents, that's even after just rejecting the cost of the material. Time cost, crunchy cost for cakes, electric cost, all of them are not even good at counting," answer to aunt.
The auntie hand out a yellow plastic bag containing 6 of those cakes to Nora.
′′ What time did you start making the cakes?" asked the aunt.
′′ At noon, at 11 o'clock," I guess Nora.
′′ Aunty made one, from 10 am," replied that Aunt. ′′ At 3.30 already have to be done, at 4 aunts are here and open the stall, often in 6.30 aunts have to close, because kids are going back to school," tell the aunt.
′′ What time is it sis?" ask Nora again.
′′ 5 tribes," Nora replied.
′′ My second customer's sister today," answered the aunt. ′′ How many ringgit do you profit to sell your younger sibling? RM1, RM1. 20."
Nora just shut up.
′′ How many cakes for the first customer to buy just now? Three," said the aunt while lifting her fingers. ′′ You said that I'm lucky with him RM1. 00. From 10 am until now, I've just earned RM2. 20."
Nora never thought of all that before.
′′ I used to sell banana fried, that's why I have a lot of profit, but after my child has continued to learn, I can't do it," tell the aunt. ′′ That's the kuih kuih that brother bought, how long did you feel that one piece of cake will be finished?"
′′ Over an hour," kinda Nora. ′′ Looks like it's a mess to make it. Sorry aunty, I want to ask, if it's not profitable, why do I do business?"
The aunt is staring at Nora's face.
′′ Because there are many Malays who want to eat Malay cakes, if I don't do business, who else wants to do Malay cakes," answer that aunt. ′′ I like to do business. I'm not good at doing anything else anyway. ′′
The aunt is arranging the ex-cake, ′′ but I'm sorry if I'm afraid that I'm afraid that I'll say, our Malays are weird now."
Nora is speechless wondering. ′′ How weird is that Miss?"
′′ People we eat donuts for RM3, it's okay, sushi just RM2 is okay, but when we talk about the roadside cakes, 50 cents a piece, expensive," The aunt is smiling.
Nora is quiet again.
′′ I have tried to make our people's cakes?" asked that aunt suddenly.
′′ Never again, bahulu kuih bahulu I'm trying to make it during the festive season," Nora replied.
′′ How many cents do you feel it's worth selling bahulu kuih bahulu a piece that you made from the start to finish?" asked the aunt.
Nora is just quiet. Reminiscing the tiredness and tired of his hand hit the egg.
′′ For aunty, it's okay, I'll profit a little bit, I'll eat enough, because I know, there are many people out there who are like siblings, want to eat our people's cakes. To aunty, this is all aunty's contributions to the children too," said the aunt. ′′ But I'm sad to see our people, who don't care about what we have."
Nora is just quiet listening. She just stared at seeing the aunt sulking some empty water from the carbonated water bottle that was brought in.
′′ Malay aunt. Auntie can do sushi or dorayaki or dorayaki, price is 2 ringgit, selling 10 is like a day profit, even the items are taken from suppliers, no need to be crunchy for all," said that.
′′ But if I do that, who else would sell this cake to my younger brother?" asked the aunt.
′′ If I die later, all my children won't make cakes. Those women don't even want to learn how to learn, all Malay people won't eat sushi with donuts only everyday?" That aunt will give them RM3 money back to Nora.
′′ Eh, auntie, this is my cake money," says Nora.
′′ I don't want your money, aunty alms. Every person who buys cakes from aunt and she says it's expensive, I give back money to her and aunt," answer that aunt.
′′ Why did I?" ask Nora's happiness.
′′ Because if the Malay people don't want to help the Malays who can't afford, no one else will help us," the aunt answered.
′′ I can afford auntie," reply Nora.
′′ 50 cents a little brother says expensive, can't afford it," said that the aunt is smiling sincerely.

It didn't take long for Theo Ratliff to make
his presence felt for the Philadelphia 76ers.
Sidelined with a stress fracture in his left ankle for the first
six games of the season, Ratliff returned with 17 points, eight
rebounds and a key blocked shot as the 76ers held off the
Toronto Raptors, 93-90.
"I wanted to get to a point where I was healthy enough to make a
contribution," Ratliff said. "Tonight I felt great. Everything
is going well. I enjoyed being out there.
"Theo was a presence the whole game," 76ers coach Larry Brown
said.
The 6-10 forward started at center and triggered a 12-2 burst in
the fourth quarter that was fueled by Allen Iverson, who scored
eight of his 30 points in the pivotal stretch. Iverson has
scored at least 30 points in four consecutive games, with the
Sixers (3-4) winning three.
"Theo back gave us confidence, especially being on the road,"
Iverson said. "We feel with Theo, we can't be beat at home or on
the road."
Toronto's Vince Carter scored a season-high 27 points but had a
layup blocked by Ratliff and missed a potential tying 3-pointer
in the final seconds. The cold-shooting Raptors trailed by 19
points in the third quarter and had a four-game winning streak
snapped.
"It was a fight from start to finish and they won," Carter said.
"We were missing shots early and they were getting fast breaks
and making their layups and jump shots. We still fought hard to
come back. But we ran out of gas at the end. We just have to
bounce back."
Losers of its first four road games, Philadelphia took a 75-66
lead into the fourth quarter but had six turnovers in the first
four minutes of the period. A jumper by Carter completed a 9-1
surge and pulled the Raptors within 76-75 with 8:08 to go.
Ratliff took an alley-oop pass from Iverson and dunked to start
the decisive run. Iverson and Toronto's Dell Curry traded
baskets before Philadelphia's Eric Snow scored with 6:46 left.
Iverson made a four-point play and a fast-break layup to widen
the lead to 88-77 with 5:48 remaining.
"I thought we played great, except for seven or eight minutes,"
Brown said. "We took bad shots and had turnovers. We knew
Toronto was going to make a run at us and we got upset. But we
made some big shots."
Two 3-pointers by Curry, who scored 13 points, helped Toronto
peck away at the deficit. Ratliff's layup with 1:26 left gave
Philadelphia a 92-87 lead and Carter answered with a pair of
free throws.
Carter and Snow traded a free throw apiece before Carter had his
drive blocked by Ratliff, who was third in the league in blocks
last season. Snow lost the deflection out of bounds with 7.5
seconds left but Carter and Alvin Williams missed 3-pointers
before the horn sounded.
"We knew they'd try to get a quick basket and I was patrolling
the lane," Ratliff said.
"Theo is a very good player when he's healthy," Raptors coach
Butch Carter said. "He gives them a presence in the middle that
they haven't had."
George Lynch scored 12 points and Snow added eight, 11 assists
and seven rebounds for the Sixers, who shot 44 percent
(37-of-84) from the field. Iverson made 4-of-5 3-pointers and
added seven rebounds and six assists.
Doug Christie scored 19 points for the Raptors, who shot just 37
percent (29-of-78), negating a 27-14 edge in made foul shots.
Iverson scored 12 points and Ratliff and Lynch 10 apiece as the
Sixers grabbed a 55-45 halftime lead. Iverson framed a 9-0 run
to open the third quarter with a 3-pointer and jumper, pushing
Philadelphia's lead to 64-45 with 8:25 remaining.
"We played solid defense," Iverson said. "It was important to
get an early lead. It gave us confidence."
"They got the lead early and it gave them confidence," said
Raptors forward Charles Oakley, who was held scoreless. "Being
down by 19 is a lot at home. We just didn't get the job done. We
really haven't done anything yet. We have a good team but we
have to be consistent if we want to be an elite team in this
league."
Consecutive baskets by Christie closed the period and capped a
9-2 burst that cut Toronto's deficit to nine points.

The Atlantic Division is heading down to the wire. It's also heading down to the bottom.
Allen Iverson scored 38 points for Philadelphia, which beat Boston 97-93 on Sunday to snap a three-game losing streak and move three games behind the Celtics in the NBA's worst division. At one game below .500, Philadelphia could finish with the Eastern Conference's third seed or miss the playoffs altogether.
"The playoffs have started for a lot of teams and we haven't joined in the fray," said Boston coach Doc Rivers, hoarse after a game in which his team fell behind 26 points in the first quarter. "We really don't get it. I'm telling you, we don't."
Philadelphia moved a game ahead of Orlando for the eighth and final playoff spot in the Eastern Conference. Samuel Dalembert had 18 points and 15 rebounds for the Sixers, who played their third consecutive game with Chris Webber out because of a sprained left shoulder.
Iverson started and played 44 minutes, getting nine assists and six steals, despite a strained groin that put him out of the fourth quarter in Friday night's game against Dallas.
"Early in the game, we buckled down," he said. "I'm glad we did, because it shows we can play defense with the best of them."
Paul Pierce had 26 points and 13 rebounds and Raef LaFrentz had 14 points and 13 rebounds for the Celtics, who were without Antoine Walker (bruised left knee). Rivers said Walker will probably miss Tuesday's game at Washington and perhaps the rest of the week.
"But, listen," Rivers said. "They didn't have Webber, so no excuse for us. Antoine had nothing to do with this one."
Boston won 10 of 11 after acquiring Walker at the trading deadline, and Sunday's game was moved to the afternoon and put on national television after the surge threw the teams into a fight for the division title. But the Sixers have fallen to the verge of the lottery, and Boston lost three in a row before beating the Atlanta Hawks -- the NBA's worst team -- on Friday.
"It's a big game: national TV," said Ricky Davis, who scored 27 off the bench for Boston. "It's very embarrassing."
The Celtics would earn the third seed with a division title. But Boston is just ½-game ahead of Indiana for home-court advantage in the first round of the playoffs.
The Celtics trailed 38-12 with 15 seconds left in the first quarter, and it was still a double-digit deficit late in the fourth when Davis hit a 3-pointer with 6:39 left to make it 83-75. Pierce and Al Jefferson each hit a pair of free throws to complete a 7-0 run that made it a four-point game.
Boston made it 93-90 in the final minutes when Pierce scored on a finger-roll layin from underneath the basket and drew a foul. But he missed the free throw, then Iverson scored off a screen at the top of the key to give the Sixers a five-point lead with 22.7 seconds left.
The Celtics made just 5-of-20 shots and committed seven turnovers in the first quarter. Philadelphia made 5-of-12 from 3-point range in the first but just 1-of-9 in the second, when the Celtics scored eight straight to close the gap and then cut it to 10 on Pierce's 3-pointer in the final second of the half.
Game notes
Pennsylvania Gov. Ed Rendell took part in the national anthem, making good on a Super Bowl bet he made with his Massachusetts counterpart, Mitt Romney. Both governors wore Patriots jerseys; Rendell's wife, Midge, a trained opera singer, helped him finish the song. ... Kyle Korver went 1-for-6 from 3-point range to set the 76ers record for 3-pointers in a season with 198. The old mark was held by Dana Barros, who made 197 in 1994-95.

After their big man was thrown out, the
Philadelphia 76ers made a big comeback with their little guys.
Center Dikembe Mutombo's ejection early in the third quarter
spurred the 76ers, who rallied from a 20-point deficit behind
guards Allen Iverson and Eric Snow for a 104-96 victory over the
New York Knicks.
Iverson scored 35 points and Snow added 23 for the Sixers, who
won their fourth straight game and showed some of the grit they
displayed last season, when they reached the NBA Finals.
"It's extra special (to win) when you have to fight and
struggle," Iverson said. "We were able to keep fighting through
it. I know last year's team is dead and stinkin', but we took
something from last year's team (in this game)."
"I've had this team for five years and they try," Sixers coach
Larry Brown said. "They might not always play right and they
might not always play good, but they try."
The 7-2 Mutombo, a four-time NBA Defensive Player of the Year,
was ejected in the first minute of the third quarter for a
second flagrant foul. The ensuing free throws by Kurt Thomas
gave the Knicks a 65-45 lead.
That's when Iverson, Snow and the rest of the Sixers came alive,
particularly on the defensive end. Their pressure changed the
tempo of the game, and the momentum shortly thereafter.
"When he got ejected, everybody just stepped up their game,"
Iverson said.
"We said, `What are we gonna do?'" Snow said. "'Are we gonna
lay down? Or are we gonna pick up the intensity?'"
The 6-3 Snow set the tone, going chest-to-chest with Allan
Houston off the ensuing inbounds pass. He limited him to 1-of-9
shooting in the second half after Houston had torched the Sixers
for five 3-pointers and 18 points in the first half.
Snow collected four steals as did Iverson, the league leader in
that category. The 6-foot superstar used his quickness to
contest nearly every pass and make things difficult for the
Knicks to get into their offense.
During the third-quarter rally, Iverson dove to break up an
inbounds pass, scrambled to his feet to get the ball and dunked,
stunning the sellout crowd at Madison Square Garden.
"They have great quickness," admitted Knicks coach Don Chaney,
whose team blew another double-digit lead. "They get into guys.
That's what happened. I thought they really got into us."
The defense allowed the Sixers to put together bursts of 11-0
and 10-0 that pulled them into a 70-70 tie with 1:56 remaining
in the third quarter. Less than a minute later, Snow made a
steal and passed to Iverson, who drove and dished to Derrick
Coleman for a layup and a 74-72 lead.
There were six lead changes in the fourth quarter, the last on
two free throws by Matt Harpring that gave the Sixers a 91-90
edge with 3:50 to play. Iverson and Snow took over from there,
combining for 11 of Philadelphia's last 13 points.
"Allen and Eric, I don't think guards can play better than
that," Brown said.
Iverson, who made 12-of-28 shots and 11-of-11 free throws, sank
two from the line for a 93-90 lead with 3:22 remaining. On the
next trip, he found Snow for a jumper with 2:19 left.
Othella Harrington put home Houston's airball, but again Iverson
found Snow for a driving three-point play and a 98-92 advantage
with 1:30 to go. Snow made 10-of-17 shots and fell two points
shy of his career high matched Friday night vs. Indiana.
"I'm feeling pretty good and I'm looking for the shot," Snow
said. "I'm trying to create or create shots for other people.
I've been told to be more aggressive, but it's still situations
in games."
