【#閱讀筆記】《完美的獨裁》作者斯坦．林根教授發公開信，呼籲中國研究者應視當今中國為「極權政體」（totalitarian state），而不止是「專制政體」（authoritarian state）。今年是改革開放40周年，中國卻在專制與極權之間來回折返，世事諷刺，莫過於此。
Prof. Stein Ringen, the author of “The Perfect Dictatorship”, wrote an open letter to fellow China analysts asking them to face up to the fact that China is now a "totalitarian state", not “an authoritarian system”. This year marks the 40th anniversary of "Reform and Opening-up". It is indeed ridiculous that China is still pacing up and down between authoritarianism and totalitarianism.
