It's the end of exams today which means it's time for us to celebrate, woohoo! The girls were stoked to see a surprise package waiting at home and opening it brought them so much glee. See more in my stories.
Growing up, perhaps because I only had an elder brother or that we were not quite rich, I never did play with any doll or girly toy. In fact, I never owned a single Barbie doll too and it ended up I didn't buy any for my girls when I became a mum. Haha. While we do have some at home, they are all gifts from friends or hand-me-downs - we once received a stash of precious Barbies from a friend in Sweden whose daughter had grown into a teen.
Today, the girls were in luck because they received a brand new, latest range Barbie and one that I find quite inspiring! After more than 150 careers, Barbie continues to encourage the next generation of girls that anything is possible. It suits my two sporty girls to a tee and it is apt that our Barbie is a gymnast (swipe to see her up close) because we've been watching some gymnastic clips and the girls have been trying to work on their forward rolls, splits and front walkovers too. With their new clubs and ribbon, perhaps they will be more keen to learn about rhythmic gymnastics in their free time during the school hols too. Yup, that's another thing we are gonna do this year end, learn new sports and tricks!
