ZERO DISCRIMINATION DAY
Today is #ZeroDiscriminationDay and the start of Women’s Month! Everyone has the right to live with respect and dignity with ZERO DISCRIMINATION. The theme of this year’s Day is the fight against discrimination faced by women and girls, and the organization aims to raise awareness, mobilize action, and promote equality.
Gender discrimination has been continuing to threaten the hard work & progress for Human Rights. On this day, let us remember that AIDS remains the biggest killer of women aged 15-49 years. To end AIDS by 2030, we must collectively work together and end gender based violence inequality, insecurity and ensure that women and girls have equal access to education, health and employment.
Governments must promote inclusive social and economic growth. They must eliminate discriminatory laws, policies and practices in order to ensure equal opportunity and reduce inequalities.
But we can all play our part by calling out discrimination where we see it, by setting an example or by advocating to change the law. We all have a role to play in ending discrimination and so reducing inequalities.
Ending inequality requires transformative change. Greater efforts are needed to eradicate extreme poverty and hunger and there is a need to invest more in health, education, social protection and decent jobs.
The Zero Discrimination Day join us raising awareness about the inequalities that prevent people from living a full and productive life and demanding that governments fulfil their commitments and obligations to end all forms of discrimination.

From night to day, start to finish- I can’t freaking believe I ran and completed my first ever half marathon! 😆😆😆 To be honest, given I was still recovering from my operation I was scurrrred and secretly hoped the whole thing would get cancelled - lol yea right. Instead, I had to face what I signed up for and last minute only gave myself 5 days to mentally and physically prepare (don’t be like me!) I trained for 3, rested for 2 and had a goal to finish in 2.5 hrs. I swear by the second half I thought for sure I didn’t make my goal... at 15k my knees and thighs were starting to ache more than I can bare and lots of ppl were passing me. But somehow 15 turned to 17 and by 20k I was still going and with a couple hundred meters left, I saw the finish line and then I just started sprinting! As I crossed the finish line I saw the time was 2:24 and my gawddd just this overwhelming joy, gratitude and relief came over me. I did ittttt!

I have so much more respect for marathon and triathlon athletes 😱 this shit is not easy. Actually, what really helped me was running without headphones. When you allow yourself to hear your natural surroundings you sorta become one with it. At the start of the race it was dark still (530am); it was as if the entire city was still asleep and all you could hear were a large herd of footsteps. As it got to sunrise, birds, old people on bicycles were setting up breakfast stands, and later cars passing by and more and more ppl grunting from getting tired. Just picture all that. It really kept me going more than if I heard one song play after another. Surprising? Haha

Anyways, I really believe our bodies are capable of doing what may seem impossible or crazy to us. It was crazy seeing middle aged men wearing backpacks running and even visually impaired runners. We can do anything with just a little focus, some guts and lots of will power. 💪🏼💪🏼💪🏼 ok but I probably won’t be running a half again anytime soon 😆

著作The End of Faith的部分翻譯問題。

================================
The young man takes his seat beside a middle-aged couple. He will wait for the bus to reach its next stop. The couple at his side 【appears to be shopping for a new refrigerator】. The woman has decided on a model, but her husband worries that it will be too expensive. He indicates another one in a brochure that lies open on her lap.
The next stop comes into view. 【The bus doors swing】.
The nails, ball bearings, and rat poison 【ensure further casualties on the street and in the surrounding cars.】
These are 【the facts】. This is all we know for certain about the young man.
A BELIEF is a lever that, once pulled, moves almost everything else in a person’s life. Are you a scientist? A liberal? A racist? These are merely species of 【belief in action】.
It seems that if our species ever eradicates itself through war, it will not be because 【it was written in the stars】 but because it was written in our books; 【it is what we do with words like “God” and “paradise” and “sin” in the present】 that will determine our future.
【People tend to organize themselves into factions according to which of these incompatible claims they accept】—rather than on the basis of language, skin color, location of birth, or any other criterion of tribalism.
All are 【in perverse agreement】 on one point of fundamental importance, however: “respect” for other faiths, or for the views of unbelievers, is not an attitude that God endorses.
【While all faiths have been touched, here and there, by the spirit of ecumenicalism,】 the central tenet of every religious tradition is that all others are mere repositories of error or, at best, dangerously incomplete. Intolerance is thus intrinsic to 【every creed】. Once a person believes—really believes—that certain ideas can lead to eternal happiness, or to its antithesis, he cannot tolerate the possibility that the people he loves might be led astray by the blandishments of unbelievers. Certainty about the next life is 【simply incompatible with tolerance in this one.】
Observations of this sort pose 【an immediate problem for us, however, because】 criticizing a person’s faith is currently taboo in every corner of our culture.
But technology has 【a way of creating】 fresh moral 【imperatives】. Our technical advances in the art of war have finally rendered our religious differences—and 【hence our religious beliefs】—antithetical to our survival. We can no longer ignore the fact that billions of our neighbors believe in the metaphysics of martyrdom, or in the literal truth of 【the book of Revelation】,
Consider the case of alchemy: it fascinated human beings for over a thousand years, and yet anyone who seriously claims to be a practicing alchemist today will have disqualified himself for most positions of responsibility in our society. Faith-based religion 【must】 suffer the same slide into obsolescence.
What is the alternative to 【religion as we know it】? As it turns out, this is the wrong question to ask. Chemistry was not an “alternative” to alchemy; it was a wholesale exchange of 【ignorance at its most rococo】 for genuine knowledge.
OF COURSE, people of faith 【fall】 on a continuum:
they imagine that the path to peace will be paved once each of us has learned to respect the 【unjustified】 beliefs of others.
Many religious moderates have taken the 【apparent high road】 of pluralism, asserting the equal validity of all faiths,
As long as a Christian believes that only his baptized brethren will be saved on the Day of Judgment, he cannot possibly “respect” the beliefs of others, for he knows that the flames of hell have been stoked by 【these very ideas】 and await their adherents even now.
Muslims and Jews generally take the same arrogant view of their own enterprises and have spent millennia passionately reiterating the errors of other faiths. It should go without saying that 【these】 rival belief systems are all equally uncontaminated by evidence.

Make a bouquet of roses with cats in origami.
How to make a rose is surprisingly easy.
Just fold the corner of 1/16 size origami of 15cm x 15cm!
If you draw a swirl there, you will have a rose.
Since there is a part to cut a little, please prepare scissors.
When making wrapping paper and ribbon to wrap the bouquet, make a few cuts.
The cat's hand is made by sticking a round sticker with a diameter of 8mm.
I think that you can use it for various occasions such as birthday, mother's day, father's day, respect for the aged, wedding celebration, celebration of acceptance.
If you write a message and send it along with a present, you will surely be pleased.
