หลังจากที่แอดได้เล่น version PS5 ไป ส่วนตัวคิดว่างาน Graphic และ Performance ถ้าไม่ได้เอามาเปิดเทียบข้างๆกัน ไม่รู้สึกถึงความแตกต่าง เนื่องจากเกมนี้ performance บน PS4 (เล่นบน Slim) ทำออกมาดีมากๆอยู่แล้ว ภาพก็สวย Frame rate ก็นิ่ง พอเปิดบน PS5 เลยไม่รู้สึกว้าวเท่าไหร่ แม้จะเปิด Ray Tracing แล้วก็ตาม รวมไปถึงพวกพื้นผิวต่างๆ ที่โหลดไม่ทันก็ยังพบเห็นได้บ่อยๆ

แต่ถ้าจะถามว่ามีอะไรที่ดีกว่า ver. PS4 ที่เล่นแล้วรู้สึกได้เลยไหม?? ก็มีดังนี้ครับ:
- โหลดเข้าเกมเร็ว แต่เอาจริงๆ ก็ไม่ได้ Impact เยอะมากมาย เพราะตัวเกมไม่ได้โหลดอะไรบ่อยๆ
- Frame rate นิ่งมาก 60FPS แต่ ver. PS4 slim ก็นิ่งนะ แม้ความละเอียดจะน้อยกว่า
- ระบบสั่น Haptic Feedback อันนี้สัมผัสได้เลยว่าละเอียดกว่า Duanshock4 แต่ก็ยังไม่ได้ถึงกับทำให้ต้องมาเล่นบน PS5
- Adaptive Trigger น่าจะเป็นสิ่งที่แตกต่างที่สุดแล้ว ปืนแต่ละกระบอก จะมีการหน่วงทั้ง การเล็ง (L2) และ ยิง (R2) ที่ไม่ใช่แค่ฝืด แต่เหมือนมีอะไรมาขัด กดแล้วให้อารมณ์เหมือนสลักไกปืนเลย (คิดเองนะแอดก็ไม่เคยยิงปืนจริงๆ 555) Handgun เป็นแบบนึง, Shotgun แบบนึง, Rifle ก็แบบนึง แต่เอาจริงๆช่วงแรกๆ ไม่ได้สังเกตุเลยเจอ Lycan รุม เล่นไปเรื่อยๆ พอเปลี่ยนปืน แล้วจะ เอ๊ะ! มันไม่เหมือนกันหนิ

สรุป ใครรอเล่น RE village บน PS5 ไม่ต้องรอเลยครับ ความยอดเยี่ยมของเกมนี้อยู่ที่ Content ไม่ใช่ Gimmick ที่กล่าวมาข้างต้น **ดู Review ใน Clip ได้เลย**
แล้วอีกหน่อยซื้อ PS5 มา ค่อยเอามาเปิดเทส Feature ที่บอกไปเอา feeling ก็ยังได้ (ตัวเกม Upgrade PS4 -> PS5 ฟรี)

職場提升心得 (一): 觀察及反省自我能力

我過去寫了“矽谷科技公司和上級的 1: 1 討論及 mid-cycle check in” 及 “美國科技公司的績效考評 (Performance review)”，分享目前我了解到矽谷科技公司對員工的評比方式、及如何定時和直屬老闆在個人績效及職業發展上尋求 feedback 及幫助。從過去的分享中，我也了解到許多讀者有興趣想知道如何可以成為獨當一面的工程師。

我對於自我提升及職業發展也是很有興趣的，從我過往的經驗、讀的書籍學習、還有剛好有一些機會從更資深的工程師及層級比較高的領導者討論學習，在我內化整理後，分享在這一系列職場提升心得文章。

關於職場發展，我體悟到最重要的一點是要有觀察及反省能力。可能我們看到許多大神的成功案例，覺得他們在對的時間，做到對的事情，事業就一飛沖天。如果我們沒有這種 “先知先覺” 的能力，至少我們可以先練習 “後知後覺”。後知後覺是把我們過去做過的事情做個紀錄，嘗試去發掘出我們在哪些部分做的不錯，哪些是我們做的不好之處。

統計上的常態分布 (normal distribution) 大家都很清楚，如果以能力來說，每樣能力世界上人的分佈也應該像是常態分佈一樣。如果我們的能力是在正向超過一個標準差以上，或甚至是 2、3 個標準差以上的傑出範圍，我們應該要想盡辦法多運用這方面的技能，尋找職業戰場上以需要這類型的能力作為主要方向，最能體現我們的價值，也更能事半功倍、得到最多成果。

如果有什麼方面是在負的標準差範圍，則我們應該想盡辦法避免需要在這個領域和別人一較高下，如果可以提升到正的標準差當然好，但如果需要花太多精力，也僅僅只是達到中間水平，考慮到時間成本及最後的產出，可能可以認真考慮放棄掉在這個方向持續投入。

我讀過且很推薦的一本書 “The Effective Engineer: How to Leverage Your Efforts In Software Engineering to Make a Disproportionate and Meaningful Impact”，在之前作者有書籍活動的時候，我詢問他一個職業發展的問題：“我們應該要多強化我們的優勢能力，還是花時間補足我們的弱點？” 當時他建議我的可以依照優勢能力，把技能樹比較相關的能力一起加強，有點像是做一個技能“山” (就像山的形狀一樣)，山峰是我們最重要、最強的能力、旁系的山峰相關的能力也要依照主山峰的情況做提升。但如果是比較遠的能力，就可以依照興趣再決定是否要花時間提升。

要做到對個人能力的分析，也是需要許多努力及嘗試，有一個經驗法則就是，如果你覺得你做某一件事情通常可以比其他人做的快，而且你自己沒有太大的壓力，這應該就是你為在正標準差的能力。如果你常要加班、且常常壓力很大會緊張結果的話，這可能就是你比較弱勢在負標準差的部分。

以上當然是很籠統，很高空的心得，最近比較忙，也就只能一次一小部分分享了 XD。 🤣

矽谷科技公司和上級的 1: 1 討論及 mid-cycle check in

在美國科技公司工作，很多公司都有規定定期和上級 1:1 會議，舉例來說，目前我和我的直屬經理，每週有 1 個 30 分鐘的見面討論。很多人不知道每週要和經理聊什麼，於是就只做工作匯報，這其實很可惜、浪費寶貴的機會得到更多支持及提攜。

關於 1: 1，我讀過許多文章，其中我最推薦的就是敝司 VP Mark Rabkin 寫的 The Art of the Awkward 1:1，這篇文章重點就是說，別在你的寶貴 1:1 的時候，和你的經理聊任何可以在公開場合，或是其他公司同事在場可以聊的事情，盡量講一些 awkward 尷尬的事情。比如說，文章建議你可以聊你的情緒、感覺、或是恐懼。尋求一些 honest feedback，並且有深入的討論自己正在努力提升的地方。這篇文章蠻短的，推薦大家從以上的文章連結點進去閱讀原文來細細品嚐體會。

我目前的 1:1，通常一開始都會和我的經理大概聊一下這週的情況，可能是工作上、或是生活上的事情。比如說，上週五我因為我女兒的保母不舒服，需要請幾個小時的假，我也和我的經理講到工作生活平衡、小孩在 COVID 疫情期間的活動等等。之前我在 Facebook 分享了短篇心得雜感 “短頭髮 & 軍人”，提到我在 1:1 和我的經理講到我們彼此當兵的經歷。這種閒聊雖然和工作沒有直接關聯，但是可以更好的了解彼此，我也可以從各種角度了解我的經理的價值觀。

而在過往的經驗，我也有和我的經理講到做專案的某個時間、某個人、因為某個情況，因為一些不專業、不禮貌及低效的溝通，讓我覺得特別不受尊重、我因此特別的生氣的情況。很多情況經理的立場並不是要選邊站，而是要幫助你釐清你的感覺，並且引導、舒緩你的極端情緒，給出一些建議及幫忙。在敝司，工程經理可以出面調停排解一些人員及專案上的問題，但如同我在之前文章：美國科技公司的績效考評 (Performance review)，我們工程師也會在 “People" 這個項目看是否有專案協調溝通的能力。在往比較資深的階段邁進時，工作上的溝通協調都是歷練，也是讓工程師更可以面面俱到，成為獨當一面的工程師的歷程。我之前不快的經驗也是在和經理討論可能作法後，自己溝通及解決的。

工程師要被考核 Impact, Engineering, Direction, People 的面向，雖然說看起來很多，要往上升職要把許多能力技能培養好、得花上許多時間及心力。但也是因為矽谷科技大公司的這些標準，讓資深工程師都可以獨當一面。比如說 Google、 Facebook 的 E5 等級資深工程師，離開後去不是 FAANG 等級的公司，通常有機會往上 1、2 個等級被雇用，資深工程師到新創當總監、VP、CTO 等也是蠻常聽到的。當然反過來說，如果不是 FAANG 等級的工程師，面試到 FAANG 後，等級有可能會被降級雇用 XD。

除了每週固定的 1:1，因為每半年有一次考核，所以我們每 3 個月會有一次 mid-cycle check in，這個不是強制規定的，比較會看每個經理的規劃。但是如果沒有的話，建議還是和你的經理在考核的一半時間點的時候，和經理確認你目前情況。

我剛做完 mid-cycle check in，因為我剛換組，是我在這個新組的第一個半年，所以我也用這個機會，了解我目前 ramp up 的情況，及我的經理對我目前的工作成果滿意程度。如果有任何我應該加強的領域，希望剩下 3 個月我也有機會可以補強。

不論是每週的 1:1 及 mid-cycle check in，這都是專屬於你的時間，你應該要用這個機會，好好得到你經理的指導及建議。最高指導原則就是：在未來你得知你的半年績效結果時，應該是沒有覺得意外的成分。因為你每週都有和經理持續溝通，了解你的情況及得到你所需要的幫助了。
