While much of the world was in lockdown, causing live music venues and studios to remain closed indefinitely, The Perfect Magazine worked together with photographer and musician Steve Mackey and Gucci to turn the spotlight on notable musical artists unable to record or perform who have nevertheless continued to create at home. The result is ‘Notes from the Underground’—inspired in part by Alessandro Michele’s ‘Notes from the Silence’ diary written last spring, a shortlist of talents from across continents and genres—including Philtrum shot by Zhong Lin and Ebinum Brothers captured by Frank Lenz, both styled by Jeanie Annan-lewin—all connected by their experimental work.
