│疫情再升溫 Sony 忍痛將新片尖叫旅社第4集以1億美元賣斷給 Amazon│

更正說明： 感謝讀者 Shin-Yi Wawa Cpst 提醒，我的原本貼文內容誤讀了 Variety 原報導。報導原意應該是兒童沒有施打疫苗因此沒有抵抗力，進入電影院的風險更高。剛剛查證紐約市政府的規定是12歲以下進入電影院不用出示疫苗證明，但必須有成人陪伴且必須全程配戴口罩。以下內文已配合修訂。再次感謝提醒。

• Variety 昨天獨家報導內部消息指出 Sony Pictures 鑒於疫情不斷加溫，在這個月初就開始四處尋求串流買主，以便賣掉原訂要在10月1日上映的動畫大片《Hotel Transylvania: Transformania 尖叫旅社：變形怪獸》。最新消息是最後 Sony 確定以1億美元的價格賣斷給 Amazon Prime Video 全球獨家上架，而且除了中國市場之外將不再進行電影院發行。

• 親子電影一直是好萊塢票房表現比較穩定的類型。今年初疫情開始降溫之後，親子片也是比較早驗證觀眾仍願意回來的產品。然而近期 Delta 病毒株快速擴散已經使暑假檔電影接連翻船，似乎連親子片也挺不住了。對 Sony 來說更心痛的是 《Hotel Transylvania 尖叫旅社》系列電影的前三集一共花2.3億製作，最後總計為 Sony 帶來13億美元的票房，吸金能力儼然就是 Sony 自己的小小兵系列旗艦產品。Amazon 的1億出價雖然也算大方，但對 Sony 來說等於犧牲可能賺錢的機會換一個較低價格的固定報酬。

• Sony 是目前所有好萊塢片廠中唯一沒有經營全類型跨國串流平台的一家（但有經營兩個即將合併的動畫串流服務）。他們的優勢是可以反過來向串流平台收內容授權費，也可以替他們製作節目（比如 Netflix 招牌節目《The Crown 王冠》）。然而缺點是他們遇到電影市場的波動時將無法像其他競爭對手那樣可以快速做出避險決策，比如像 Disney 那樣將 Pixar 動畫《Luca 路卡的夏天》直接跳過電影院上架到自家串流平台。Sony 的唯一選擇就是沿街叫賣自己的心血。比如去年 Tom Hank 的《Greyhound 怒海戰艦》就在第一波疫情中賣給了 Apple TV+，成為 Tom Hanks 意外主演的第一部串流電影。

• 昨天的另一則重大新聞可能不是 Sony 決定賣片的最後一根稻草（顯然 Sony 兩週前就開始兜售該片），但仍然是目前好萊塢危機的重要指標：紐約市市長 Bill de Blasio 昨天宣佈紐約市的室內表演活動和相關場館包含電影院都將開始要求出示疫苗護照（App或紙本證明）才能進入。預計美國其他城市和州政府（除了共和黨執政的部分保守州）都會開始發佈類似的政策。比如紐奧良從昨天開始就已經要求進入電影院必須出示疫苗施打證明或是72小時內篩檢陰性證明。疫苗施打率高的舊金山市也從本週五開始對出入電影院者要求疫苗施打證明。鑒於美國（或是全世界）12歲以下兒童目前仍然沒有疫苗可打，進入電影院的感染風險更高，親子片也因此從原本的抗跌產品成為燙手山芋。

• 好不容易從去年的全面停業慘況中慢慢恢復活力的電影院產業則開始擔憂另一波延後上映潮將再度襲來。比如 Sony除了將 《尖叫旅社：變形怪獸》賣掉之外，也將另一部潛力大片《Venom: Let There Be Carnage 猛毒2：血蜘蛛》延後三週上映。電影院業者已經不敢想像接下來的電影檔期還會發生什麼全面崩壞的狀況。業者雖然知道政府部門的所有政策都有自己的正當理由，但電影院幾乎每一次都只有坐著等死的份。
