Washi: “Life on Earth”

Legends say many many years ago a craftsman planted a seed made of Washi yarn under the light of a blood moon and to his amazement a magical tree of denim grew! How lucky we are to see it in all it’s glory!

Thank you @hiroyoshikawa_art and @botanic_union for allowing us to create and build this mystical world and bring to life the ancient story of “Life on Earth”. We are deeply inspired from your designs and and admire how your new collection is so connected to Mother Earth! Just like your brand philosophy we are proud to have made everything by hand with love and friendship.

There’s always that “envy” or amazement when I see other people in the outback or some beautiful far away place sipping a cup of coffee, savouring life and time just stops there for them.... and deep down a little voice of mine would say I wish that was me there, now, experiencing “that” ....
well what better time to start appreciating life and do things in life that you enjoy doing but with a certain zest to it.
Set up my little “outback” kitchen Out on my tiny porch, cooked some eggs, mushroom and salmon topped above some artisan focaccia.. I just took my time, no rush and amidst this lock down I still found some outdoor “me” space.
Ohhh so the artisan focaccia is handmade by my good buddy @jason2leong .. he makes very limited small batches of artisan bread. Check him out for orders..

"This nori", I said in amazement, "what is it"? I know that recognise that familiar sound of heartbreak. Chef Randee of @filletsbangkok connection with produce and tradition is just as real as the heart put into his creation and respect he pays to the product.

"The top of the pyramid might be gold and mine might be ruby, but underneath the foundations are still stone", Chef Randee's words still resonate from the recent memories of a surprisingly personal and profound experience at @filletsbangkok.

I wasn't sure to feel grateful to have had experienced it "now" or dissapointed not to have tried it early, one thing was clear, I've never felt so relaxed, calm and confident in a Omakase experience than before thus.

Behind the addictive grin, bouncy waves of hair and inked forearms Chef Randee's deep knowledge and respect for product is acute, yet refreshingly we aren't having our nose rubbed into the fact, neither does Fillets find ways to make perfect produce more appeasing to misinformed palates by over saucing, gimmick plating, making sushi into mini meals or layering in foreign, luxurious ingredients which have no place in there.

Like a big and audacious ruby @filletbangkok doesn't stray from tradition as such but amplifies it potential, keeping skill, techniques align with tradition, the rock and foundation of every single bite.

If there's one Omakase, and with a Thai chef at the helm - mind you, this is the one of those you need to tick on your foodies bucket list. Unforgettable, a worthy star in my eyes. 🌟

To the doctor's amazement the hole was getting smaller, so he continued to train, increasing the intensity until he was ready to compete. With a huge catalogue of knowledge and deep respect for the sport, Oh brings an enthusiasm to each of his sessions that is hard to ignore.
With 60 bareknuckle fights, countless titles he is one of the most popular trainers with both staff and clients alike, he is also one of the best. As a traditional Martial Artist, he has racked up fights in Muay Boran, Muay Thai and MMA and teaches the Muay Boran and Krabi Krabong classes at camp.
