0:00 Street food is readily available here in Saigon, Vietnam, especially inthe later evening hours when people are heading home from work. By random chance while walking along Dinh Tien Hoang St in District 1, with the intention of finding a waffle shop, I spotted this beef platter makeshift restaurant on the sidewalk.at 18 Dinh Tien Hoang. This is Vietnam's famous bo bit tet aka bo ne dish, consisting of beef cooked in oil, three kinds of sausage, some probable ham, two eggs, pate, Laughing Cow cheese, and a sardine You also get a small salad, some bread and a light soft drink for just 45,000 Vietnam Dong!! That's like 2 US dollars! Wow!
This place is only open in the late afternoon early evening hours so come later.
7:45 Afterwards, I walked down the street a few steps and spotted a beef jerky papaya salad not too far from the beef steak place. This cart services a few tables in between an alley. The owner was friendly and the salad was a bit spicy for me. This was less than a dollar. Totally worth it on a hot day to just munch on cool green papaya.
11:42 Then we met a really friendly man selling cigarettes.
14:27 We finally made it to the Waffle Place at 120F Dinh Tien Hoang St, but it had copyrighted music playing in the background, so I wasn't able to explain it much. Nevertheless, this is the best place in the entire city to try some waffles. No doubt.
