Last week was crazy for me. I survived a video shoot of 7 interviewees, organising and conducted a press conference, cleaned and moved house and furniture shopping for family member, researched and held meetings for projects, checked proposals content, edited many bios for project promotion and etc. All that stress. Whew.
And today , the new week starts with heavy heavy pouring rain. Well. 🤓
Haven’t been checking on the renovation progress cuz of MCO (thanks @be.studio_my for constantly doing site visits and updating me 🥺).
Carpentry work is finally done today! Here’s my little dry kitchen 🤍
My @inovarfloormalaysia flooring is done, will reveal the colour soon. It’s time for @phomi_malaysia to give my walls a makeover next week. Then, I’ll start doing loose furniture shopping ✨✨✨

เวียดนามแซงหน้าจีนในฐานะผู้ส่งออกเฟอร์นิเจอร์รายใหญ่ที่สุดไปยังสหรัฐฯ เนื่องจากการเรียกเก็บภาษีศุลกากรของเฟอร์นิเจอร์นำเข้าจากจีนที่เพิ่มขึ้น

ข้อมูลจากนิตยสาร Furniture Today ของสหรัฐอเมริกา รายงานว่า ปี 2563 เวียดนามได้ส่งออกเฟอร์นิเจอร์มูลค่า 7.4 พันล้านดอลลาร์ฯ หรือประมาณ 2.9 แสนล้านบาท เพิ่มขึ้นร้อยละ 31 เมื่อเทียบกับจีนที่มูลค่าส่งออกเฟอร์นิเจอร์อยู่ที่ 7.33 พันล้านดอลลาร์ฯ หรือประมาณ 2.2 แสนล้านบาท ที่ลดลงร้อยละ 25

การเปลี่ยนแปลงนี้เกิดขึ้นในช่วง 2 ปีครึ่ง ที่ผ่านมาหลังจากสหรัฐฯ ได้เรียกเก็บภาษีในหมวดหมู่เฟอร์นิเจอร์จากประเทศจีนทั้งหมดถึง 25% ทำให้ปี 2561 – 2562 ผู้ผลิตได้ย้ายฐานการผลิตออกจากประเทศจีน ส่งผลต่อเนื่องให้การส่งออกเฟอร์นิเจอร์ของเวียดนามไปยังสหรัฐฯ นั้นเพิ่มขึ้น 2 หลัก ในขณะที่จีนนั้นลดลง 2 หลัก

Fred Henjes ซีอีโอของ Riverside Furniture Corp. บริษัทเฟอร์นิเจอร์เจ้าใหญ่ของสหรัฐฯ ได้ให้สัมภาษณ์ว่า “เรื่องนี้ไม่ได้ทำให้ผมแปลกใจเท่าไหร่ เพราะถึงเราไม่ได้สั่งซื้อสินค้าจากจีน แต่เราก็รู้ดีว่ายังมีประเทศอื่นๆ อีกมากที่สามารถจะสนับสนุนเราได้ โดยเฉพาะเวียดนามเอง ในหมวดสินค้านำเข้าจากเวียดนามที่เติบโตได้ดีและแข็งแกร่ง ได้แก่ เฟอร์นิเจอร์ห้องนอน ห้องอาหาร และสำนักงาน”

Klaussner Home Furnishings อีกหนึ่งบริษัทเฟอร์นิเจอร์เจ้าใหญ่ของสหรัฐฯ ที่จำหน่ายสินค้าที่นำเข้าจากประเทศเวียดนาม ระบุว่า ในปี 2563 ยอดขายสินค้าจากเวียดนามนั้นเพิ่มขึ้นถึง 10%

สหรัฐฯ เป็นตลาดส่งออกที่ใหญ่ที่สุดของเวียดนาม โดยในช่วง 4 เดือนแรกมีมูลค่าสูงถึง 30.3 พันล้านดอลลาร์ฯ หรือประมาณ 9.39 แสนล้านบาท ซึ่งเพิ่มขึ้นถึง 50% ตามมาด้วยจีนที่ 16.8 พันล้านดอลลาร์ หรือประมาณ 5.2 แสนล้านบาท ซึ่งเพิ่มขึ้น 32.4%

ในปี 2563 เวียดนามส่งออกเฟอร์นิเจอร์รวมประมาณ 13 พันล้านดอลลาร์ฯ หรือประมาณ 4 แสนล้านบาท ตอนนี้เวียดนามกลายเป็นผู้ผลิตเฟอร์นิเจอร์อันดับ 1 ในเอเชียตะวันออกเฉียงใต้ อันดับ 2 ในเอเชียและอันดับ 4 ของโลก การส่งออกเฟอร์นิเจอร์ของเวียดนามไปยังสหรัฐฯ ยังมีแนวโน้มที่จะเพิ่มขึ้นอย่างรวดเร็ว จากปัจจัยเรื่องราคาและความนิยมในสินค้าที่ได้เปรียบกว่าจีน

สำหรับเฟอร์นิเจอร์ของไทยนั้นหากจะให้แข่งขันกับเวียดนามและจีนในเรื่องของราคานั้นอาจจะไม่สามารถสู้ได้เนื่องจากข้อจำกัดหลายอย่าง กลับกันในเรื่องของดีไซน์การออกแบบที่มีเอกลักษณ์และคุณภาพที่ดีที่ไม่แพ้ประเทศอื่นของไทยนั้นสามารถที่จะพาไทยไปตีตลาดโลกได้ไม่อยากอย่างแน่นอน

I love my job binder, but its just not as efficient as having all the cut sheets and plans screwed to the wall in each room right where the guys need them - all the subs loved this method too - seriously cut down on questions (including 'where's the job binder?')
