🇭🇰Many people doesn't know HK had a world renowned Geopark that is comparable to Canada's, with so so so many rock formations that it was enlisted by UNESCO IN 2013.

The most accessible site is at High Island Reservoir East Dam in Sai Kung. Impressive hexagonal rock columns are widely distributed along the shore, demonstrating the formation of volcanic extrusive rocks 140 million years ago, which are of international geological significance.

This is the only part of the park that is reachable by taxi (30mins from Sai Kung, around HK$150), and the only place where you can touch the hexagonal rock columns. The place I stood was along the shore, where you can see thousands of concrete blocks laid for breaking sea waves to protect the reservoir from natural erosion. The juxtaposition of these graphic looking concrete blocks and pipe organ looking natural hexagonal rock columns wall make the whole scenery even more surreal.
