嗨大家好，這次Aaron第二次來台舉辦講座，我受主辦邀請擔任接待/技師/翻譯/主持，從他下飛機到上飛機的這整個過程都由我來搞定他的所有需求。

那我就不廢話直接切入重點，他在近年從代言已久的DW跳到SONOR算是當時震驚鼓界的大消息，關於這件事他認為DW在鼓皮低張力的狀況時聲音肥厚很不錯，但在高張力或其他情況下並沒有達到他心中理想的聲音，並且SONOR的鼓肚可調性較廣，調整時也能很快就達到他想要的音色。這點我觀察確實如此，他的調音方法只有讓鼓皮finger tight然後中心用手指下壓，每個lug按照對角順序一一轉緊到皺摺消失，上下pitch盡量一致，貼個小片的moongel抑制少許泛音，非常簡單且忠實呈現出鼓肚的音色，每個tom大概不超過三分鐘就搞定，當然這是他平常偏好的調法，在面對不同類型音樂演出的時候也會有所差異。

本次台灣站講座使用SQ2 Beech鼓組10”, 12”, 16”, 22”、Artist Series 14x6 Maple小鼓，Remo Emperor for toms，P77 for snare，Powerstroke3 for kick，Zildjian銅鈸自己帶型號如下：

K Custom Special Dry HiHat Top 15”
Sound Lab Prototype HiHat Bottom 15”
A Custom EFX 10”+Oriental China Trash 10” Stack
Avedis Crash 19”
Avedis Ride 22”
K Custom Special Dry Crash 20”

HiHat的Bottom很酷是A Pocket HiHat，但一般市售版只有13”，這15”是特別訂做沒有對外販售，所以寫Sound Lab Prototype，Avedis Crash & Ride也很特別，有K Cluster Crash的特別錘點，也是訂做款式。關於鈸的音色主要偏好K Dark那個方向，也會因應不同類型音樂來做組合調配，比較亮的音色選擇會用K Custom Fast Crash。

Hardware我們這次提供他一些其他品牌的架子，但他主要還是使用DW架類、踏板、鼓椅，他覺得非常穩定堅固，是現在普遍的業界標準。

鼓棒是最近發表的Zildjian簽名款，近期Vic Firth被Zildjian收購，鼓棒都是VF代工生產。上個月我去大阪跟BlackPink鼓手Bennie Rodgers II見面時也有聊到這件事，因為他剛從Vater跳槽到Vic Firth，VF在相同型號上其實有重量/木質密度的差異，舉例來說一打十二雙的5A會有Light, Medium, Heavy的差別各四雙，手感完全不同，還是要自己拿起來揮了才知道，而造成這種差異最主要的方法就是使用樹幹中不同部位來製作，越往中心密度越高也越重，反之越往外圍則密度低重量輕。

大家最想知道有關他最知名的Gospel Chops線性絕招由來是從小在教會看著前輩們長大，福音敬拜的音樂非常綜合，這些前輩都是這種打鼓的方式，逐漸耳濡目染也習慣這樣打。在年輕時大量參與所謂的shed session，可能在某人家裡的地下室一次擺出四五套鼓，所有人輪流solo，其中一個solo的時候另外幾個就提供穩定的節奏行進，由此可理解不同個性的鼓手對演奏的詮釋方式，就像是透過樂器對話交流，是很好的練習方式。有關這類的黑人鼓手影片在Youtube上有超多內容，搜尋關鍵字Gospel Chops、Shed等等就能找到非常多。

也有朋友在講座上問到，到底這些chops的使用時機該如何拿捏，是否有經過計算決定要丟出哪些排列組合等等，這類問題我覺得可以直接去搜尋他打的Usher亞瑟小子演唱會來看看，如果聽過原曲再比對現場live band版本更能看出差異，Youtube搜尋關鍵字Usher Live 03 04，或是Aaron個人的頻道也有非常多影片可以參考。不過他個人的看法是這就像學習語言，先有字母才有單字進而組合成完整句子，還是需要熟知一些rudiments的打點應用，延伸出各種手腳變化。

在放出chops時並沒有特別編排過，而是將一段可供放招的音樂視為空白的畫布，按照自己當下感覺決定要畫(打)什麼內容，只要顧好開始與結束確實地回到第一拍即可。而他也認為這些chops狂招當然很酷，但大部分的情況是將鼓這個角色當作live band的GPS，與同屬rhythm section的bass黏很緊，穩定且明確的提供節奏行進與段落帶領，在段落轉換時是比較適合放招的時機，但主要還是serve the music，演奏出最適合那些歌曲的感覺，並提供歌手穩定的音樂才能順利演唱。

這次沒有做特別訪問，但整趟跟他相處的過程中我都在想盡辦法問他各種問題，其他條列式呈現在下面分享給各位。

Q：是否有想合作的幾位藝人？
A：Sting & John Mayer。

Q：最近喜歡聽的音樂推薦？
A：Terrell Grice的”An Invitation to the Cookout”，裡面有很多underground的音樂人，雖然都不太有名但音樂性非常高，也推薦Kanye West的新專輯”Jesus is King”和由他主導的”Sunday Service Choir” Live專輯”Jesus Is Born”，認為他在經歷過人生各種階段及考驗後，現在想要傳達給聽眾的訊息十分正面且真誠。

Q：跳到SONOR有沒有機會像Benny Greb一樣發表簽名款小鼓？
A：正在與原廠討論，想要很versatile能被使用在各種音樂風格的音色，會是木頭材質，可能是Maple or Maple+Beech。

Q：生涯發展至今世界巡迴演唱會、代言講座、品牌影片拍攝等等都已達成，還有什麼想做的事？
A：想朝教育方面發展，教學課程、發行教材等等，有跟朋友在製作一些內容，把自己比較廣為人知的一些影片翻成譜，預計今年會發行。

Q：記得你上次來台灣的時候穿了知名潮流品牌Fear of God的鞋子，是否熱愛球鞋？
A：對，我有個朋友跟Fear of God的主理人Jerry Lorenzo很要好，Jerry常舉辦一些聚會邀請好友們吃飯聯絡感情並且贈送商品給好友們，那雙鞋是我朋友轉送給我的。

接待Aaron的過程十分順暢，不管我有什麼疑問都很耐心回答，也很有禮貌很常感謝我們對他一切的幫忙和付出。主持兼翻譯算是一個我還在摸索的工作型態，但以往看過一些講座覺得如果只翻譯真的滿無聊，且觀眾能得到的資訊非常少，所以我事前對Aaron做了非常多功課，雜誌文字訪談、Youtube影片訪問、各種打鼓影片幾乎都看過了，對他有徹底的了解後在邊翻譯時邊加進其他資訊分享，不過翻譯這方面我還不是非常完整和精準，也學到想到很多方式下次可以改進執行，持續努力進步中，感謝主辦活著創造、代理商雙燕樂器、場地杰克音樂和支援器材的鼓友們，也感謝大家出來！下次見嚕！

🎯 TỪ ĐA NGHĨA TRONG TIẾNG ANH 🎯

- Chủ đề từ vựng ngày hôm nay sẽ nghiên cứu một số từ vựng có nhiều nghĩa trong bài thi IELTS. Ví dụ như từ “contract” theo nghĩa thông thường có nghĩa là “hợp đồng” nhưng ở một số trường hợp khác nó lại mang ý nghĩa khác.

Trong tiếng Anh, bạn tra từ điển sẽ thấy một từ thường không chỉ có một nghĩa. Nó sẽ chia thành các dạng động từ, tính từ hay các từ liên kết theo khác nhau, diễn giải những ý riêng. Đó là từ đa nghĩa.

Trong tiếng Anh, họ có từ đa nghĩa với cùng cách viết nhưng nghĩa thì khác nhau (có thể phát âm cũng khác).

Ví dụ với từ Bass:
- They caught a bass on their fishing trip. Bass ở đây là chỉ con cá Vược
- A bass is a man with a very deep singing voice.. Bass ở đây chỉ giọng nam trầm
Hoặc They had a bass and a piano and a sax and percussion.- Bass dùng để chỉ tên một loại nhạc cụ.

Hay từ BOW
- She put a bow in her daughter's hair. - Bow ở đây là danh từ có nghĩa cái nơ
- Please bow down to the emperor. - Bow ở đây là động từ nghĩa cúi đầu

Minute là một từ khá quen thuộc, nhưng nó không chỉ là phút đâu, nó còn có nhiều nghĩa khác.
Ví dụ:
- That is only a minute problem - Đó chỉ là 1 vấn đề nhỏ
- Wait a minute! - Chờ một phút

Một số ví dụ khác thường thấy:

- Learned
The class learned that information last week. Ở đây learned là động từ - học
He is a very learned individual. Ở đây learned là tính từ có nghĩa là có học thức, uyên bác

- Wind
The wind swept up the leaves. Ở đây Wind là gió - danh từ
Wind the clock up before you go to bed. Ở đây Wind là cuộn dây (đồng hồ) - động từ

Một số từ khác:
- Bat: con dơi
hoặc gậy, vợt (thể thao)

- Band: Ban nhạc
hoặc Băng đô cài tóc

- Right: Đúng
hoặc Hướng phải

- Ring: Nhẫn
hoặc Vòng tròn

- Fly: Con ruồi
hoặc Thả (diều, chim...)

- Letter: Bức thư
hoặc Chữ cái

- Palm: Lòng bàn tay
hoặc Cây cọ

- Park: Công viên
hoặc Bãi đỗ xe

The year is 182CE. The Han Empire is in turmoil, and China is slipping towards chaos. The Emperor’s court is paralysed by corruption, and a great famine has ravaged the north. In the eyes of the people, Emperor Ling has lost the Mandate of Heaven – and with it, the right to rule.

Across the land, the people band together in opposition. Led by the three Taoist brothers Zhang Jue, Zhang Liang and Zhang Bao, they don yellow turbans and take up arms. Their aim: to tear down the unjust Han and replace it with their own dynasty of harmony and peace. They are thousands strong, with more flocking to their cause by the day.

Warlords sworn to the emperor rally to his banner; warriors of great influence and fierce ability. Yet the wiser, more ambitious of them harbour their own desires… if the Han becomes too weak, who then will take the reins of power?

The Total War: THREE KINGDOMS – Mandate of Heaven Chapter Pack depicts the events of the Yellow Turban Rebellion, enabling players to engage in the conflict from either rebel or loyalist perspectives. Introducing a number of new characters and playable faction leaders, the campaign begins in 182CE, but players can choose to continue well into the Three Kingdoms period, with familiar characters entering the campaign as the timeline progresses.
