八月真是一個奇妙的月份，隨著英國政府對於防疫的佛系態度，生活似乎已經回到沒有病毒的狀況下， 到國家劇院看了第一場舞台劇，全場坐滿的狀況下，現場觀眾除了吃東西以外，要全程佩戴口罩，儘管如此舞台劇的票也是早早銷售一空，開始更自在的外食，人與人之間的距離就像病毒不曾存在一樣。
上週末久違一年多來第一次的小旅行，到英格蘭西南邊的布里斯托，每年一次全歐洲最大的熱氣球節，吸引了世界各地的熱氣球高手，帶著自己的熱氣球來這裡同步升空。
旅客可以自費，跟著熱氣球一起俯瞰布里斯托風景，來了英國這麼多年，剛開始因為英國旅遊書的關係，造訪英國各大小城市，布里斯托這個有趣的海港城市ㄧ直是遺珠之憾。
一年一次的熱氣球節，英國國旅正夯，飯店民宿價格比平日漲了三倍，火車票也跟漲，最後一分鐘決定出發的小旅行，出發前兩天也很幸運訂到直達的公車，雖然比火車慢了半小時但是不需要轉車，客運可預定餐桌加大空間，比火車頭等空間還要舒適許多，價格更是火車的一半，維多利亞客運車站出發的班次很多就算是臨時起意的小旅行，也有很多選擇。
以往說走就走的海外旅行，視為理所當然，現在難得英國小旅行卻像個要參加校外教學的小孩興奮不已，以前不會嘗試的旅遊方式，現在能簡單找到不一樣的樂趣。
週末天空不作美，原本預計的熱氣球集體升空接連取消，還好布里斯托這個城市本身就很有趣，碰上了中世紀建築Corn Street and High Street老市區的假日跳蚤市場，港口河邊倉庫的餐廳跟英式酒吧，河岸旁的異國餐廳，17世紀老城區建築Christmas Steps蛋糕烘焙店，帶著孤獨星球的介紹，早上從晨跑開始，欣賞這個城市寧靜的一面，午餐在布里斯托最古老的市集St. Nicholas Market用餐，布里斯托也是充滿的街頭塗鴉的城市，可以在旅客觀光中心拿到塗鴉地圖，英國著名塗鴉藝術家Banksy，的作品散落在城市的各個角落。
往戶外走到達布里斯托最具代表性的吊橋Suspension Bridge，是每年熱氣球和每天夕陽最佳的觀賞地，圍繞著綠地可以逛上一兩個小時，感謝大自然給人的療癒能量，覺得來到這裡真好！ 推薦大家也來布里斯本這個城市走走！ 在英國的大家也開始小旅行了嗎？
這一陣子除了營養師的每天叮嚀，搭配課程也進行了斑馬訓練到了第13週，還差三周跑步課程才畢業，翅膀還沒長硬某一天我收到所在地的鄰里通知，我們這一區在這個週日即將封路，為的就是半馬活動，而身為居民有著折扣，收到這樣的通知信，加上正在訓練的我情何以堪，從倫敦塔出發，一路往泰晤士河西邊跑，最後在格林威治結束的路程，全程封路，能夠在倫敦大街上跑步，根本就是老天下的挑戰函！🤣
於是我報名了！對的半馬的活動就在這個禮拜日，其實我現在已經緊張得睡不著，分享布里斯托的旅行只是分散注意力而以。
拜託請幫我集氣好嗎，我這個肉腳，疫情前跑1公里都喘噓噓的人，雖然這陣子搭配著教練還有營養師的叮嚀，有了不少進步，但最多也只有到15公里，半馬21公里，可能就是世界最遙遠的距離🤣
希望我週日劫後餘生還能跟大家分享，這輩子第一次參加的路跑，在倫敦大街上跑步的感受！
🌻美國生活. 不自由, 毋寧死.
上週跟美國朋友聊天, 提到打疫苗的事情.
我: 我不瞭解為什麼有些美國人不去打疫苗. 我覺得不打疫苗, 會妨礙到其他人, 尤其是會威脅到別人的生命的話, 那更不應該.
朋友: 你在這邊住了那麼久, 還不了解美國人嗎(然後給了我一個這樣的臉😏)? 我們兩百多年前就有這樣的精神了(指的是美國獨立戰爭).
朋友看我一臉困惑, 又說: 打不打疫苗, 也不能是別人告訴我們要不要打. 這應該是由我們自己來決定的.
我(恍然大悟): 所以美國人決定打疫苗, 是要讓"自己"說服自己去打. 這是美國人的"自由"精神. 這也跟"會不會威脅到他人生命"是兩回事.
接著又說: 那我還真聽話, 疫苗出來就乖乖去打了.
朋友(很高興我"得到"了): 所以你住了那麼久, 還是沒得到美國精神! (然後又給了我一個這樣的臉😏)

🌻為什麼夏季的影集會有聖誕節場景?
美國的電視劇情都常會符合當季的氣氛. 比如說, 如果有聖誕節場景, 那通常會在冬天撥放.
所以當我前兩天看到Apple TV+影集"Ted Lasso"中, 出現聖誕節場景時, 心裡也是起了個問號.
沒想到前幾天看報紙時, 報上有這樣一篇的報導.
原來, Apple TV希望將自己定位成一個積極樂觀的頻道, 所以很多自製的內容, 都跟這有關. 而Ted Lasso中一再出現的字"Believe"(相信), 也跟這有關:

而第二季第一集的主題是"害怕與失去". 男主角自己寫的台詞, 也挺有哲理. 大意是, 存在於自己生命中, 讓自己會哭(因為恐懼)的人事物, 在離開自己生命時, 也會讓自己哭. 為什麼這個曾經讓自己哭泣的人事物離開後, 自己還會哭呢(不是應該高興嗎)?
因為這樣的哭, 應該是喜極而泣, 因為了解到它讓自己成長了, 讓自己的心智到了另一個更好的境界.
