其實，它來自世界遙遠的另一端...
原生於亞馬遜河流域一帶的熱帶水果學名Pouteria caimito，果樹可長至10公尺高。外表光滑的果皮中，包裹著有點類似煮熟的西洋梨般半透明，還有點滑軟如蒟蒻果凍...味道帶有淡淡榴蓮的香氣，熟成的時候甜味頗高，溼潤但不會很噴汁。冰鎮後加上一點檸檬/萊姆汁，用湯匙舀來吃，很適合當作甜點。且此水果富含Vitamin A Vitamin C、鈣質與磷等微量元素～
話說，是葡萄牙的航海員，將這歐洲人從沒見過的熱帶水果，帶回了歐洲，然後又帶到了亞洲...
第一次吃，是在夏威夷Ono Organic Farms，果實尚未全熟時，摸完果皮後，手上會留有一層黏液，這次在台灣吃到的，成熟度高，不僅味道叫熟甜，黏液感也比較低。深感亞馬遜一代真的有好多好特別的生物種，更希望在自然生態被完全破壞前，能有機會造訪...
