🔥 If I don’t have specific restaurant to dine, I might just open my google foodie map to check. So, finally, I have the time to visit Taipei Hua Xi Street. However, I only went to two stores though. If you have any recommended restaurant around the area, please let me know.

@phohanoisanjose , one of my favorite Vietnamese restaurants in the Bay Area, has finally expanded to Cupertino. The new location features a spacious and bright interior and own parking area. I love their roasted chicken with tomato flavored rice. The presentation was appetizing, the rice was flavorful, and the roasted chicken is amazing! They're so juicy, and layered with crispy skin.

About food
While this trip to Bay Area was primarily for family union, when I talked to my sister before the trip, we realized what excited us most is: food. Bay Area has a huge Asian population, which to us implies the existence of authentic Taiwanese and other Asian food. (English edition continues on the bottom.)
It may not be hard to find Taiwanese restaurants in US cities nowadays, but how authentic are they? I'd say that really varies. A lot of times even though the dishes seem to be correct, the ingredients and flavors are very off, as these restaurants cater to the preference of non-Taiwanese customers. However, this one tiny place in Pleasanton, CA called "Bentolicious", which provided authentic Taiwanese bento boxes, really impressed us in at least the following aspects:
1. The ingredients (particularly the cabbage) were very fresh -- Taiwanese really care about that.
2. The flavor was overall pretty light -- in general, Taiwanese food is much less salty than other cuisines. This allows other flavors to come out.
3. The staff were very hospitable and helpful. They welcomed all customers with great enthusiasm, asked if they've been here, provided recommendations, and filled your box generously with one main dish and three side dishes.
And as expected (or even beyond our expectation), it was delicious! Over that week, we ate out so much -- from the highest rated Chinese restaurant, dumplings, shaved ice to In-N-Out and Sweet Tomatoes (which represents my memory of California in 2012-2014), but still this Taiwanese bento place (which had been around for only 6 months) impressed us most.

In for the extreme? Visit the Hide and Seek World Championship in Bergamo. Doesn’t sound too rough? There is a catch! This version of the game has more rules than you might remember from when you played it at school. The game of gostra in Malta dates back to the Middle Ages, and it involves running along a greasy pole to capture a flag. If you capture it, you win a prize. The tradition takes place in Spinola Bay every year in August to celebrate the Feast of St Julian. Relax in the heart of Tuscany in these hot springs. Bubbling over ivory-white boulders, the steaming hot sulphurous waters of Saturnia, which run from Mount Amiata and the surrounding hills of Maremma, collect in the deep calcareous rock pools below. These thermal baths reach around 37C, and are suited to every season. Although nearby Terme di Saturnia offers treatments, these wild springs are free. Head to Capri and visit the Blue Grotto that has been bewitching visitors since the time of the Roman emperor Tiberius, who loved the place so much he commissioned statues to decorate it. This extraordinary optical effect is created by the sunlight bouncing on the cave walls, which produces water that is an electric blue that seems to glow.
