MOFA would like to send sincere thanks to the almost 40 members from both sides of the aisle of the #US House of Representatives who cosponsored a bill introduced by Congressman Brad Sherman and Congresswoman Young Kim on February 18, to assist #Taiwan in attaining observer status at the World Health Assembly.

The bill requests an account be made of “changes and improvements the Secretary of State has made to the United States plan to endorse and obtain observer status for Taiwan at the World Health Assembly, following any annual meetings of the World Health Assembly at which Taiwan did not obtain observer status.”

Cosponsors of the bill, which refers to Taiwan as a “model contributor to world health” and references our efforts to provide aid to over 80 countries around the world since 1996, include Chairman Gregory Meeks and Ranking Member Michael McCaul of the House Foreign Affairs Committee, Congressman Ami Bera and Rep. Steve Chabot, Chair and Ranking Member of the House Subcommittee on Asia, the Pacific, and Nonproliferation respectively.

เปิดประชุมสภาสมัยวิสามัญน่ะดีแล้ว เพราะจะได้เอาปัญหาความขัดแย้ง ข้อเสนอจากผู้ชุมนุมมาคุยกัน จะได้หาทางออกด้วยกระบวนการของสภาได้ ซึ่งถ้าทำได้ก็จะเป็นเรื่องดีมาก

“ไทยภักดี” ค้าน เปิดประชุมสภาสมัย​วิสามัญ​ ชี้ ยิ่งขยายความขัดแย้ง

10.30 น. นายแพทย์​วรงค์ เดชกิจวิกรม แกนนำกลุ่มไทยภักดี แถลงคัดค้านการเปิดประชุม​รัฐสภา​สมัยวิสามัญ​ โดยให้เหตุผล​ว่า ข้อเรียกร้องของกลุ่มประชาชนที่รวมตัวกัน โดยใช้ชื่อกลุ่มราษฎร​ ไม่ได้พุ่งเป้าเรียกร้องทางการเมือง แต่พุ่งเป้าไปที่สถาบัน​ และรูปแบบการชุมนุม​ที่คล้ายกับมีผู้อยู่เบื้องหลัง เหมือนการชุมนุมในฮ่องกง ดังนั้นหากมีการเปิดประชุมรัฐสภาจริง เชื่อว่าไม่เกิดประโยชน์​ เนื่องจากเหมือนใช้พื้นที่รัฐสภาสร้างความชอบธรรมให้กับกลุ่มผู้ชุมนุม และเปิดช่องให้จาบจ้วง​สถาบันได้ ดังนั้นจึงเชื่อว่าการเปิดประชุม​สภา​สมัย​วิสามัญ​ จะ​ยิ่ง​เป็นการ​ขยายความ​ขัดแย้ง​

พร้อมเสนอทางออกแก้วิกฤติ​การเมือง 3 ข้อ คือ 1.รัฐบาลต้องตั้งศูนย์แถลงข่าว เหมือนศูนย์​โควิด-19 (ศบค.)​ เพื่อตอบโต้ข้อมูลเฟคนิวส์ จากกลุ่ม​ผู้ชุมนุม 2.เปิดโอกาสให้มีการชุมนุมเสรีภาพ 3.รัฐบาลต้องดำเนินการกับผู้ชุมนุมที่กระทำความผิดกฎหมาย

ทั้งนี้ นายแพทย์​วรงค์ เชื่อว่าสถานการณ์​ที่เกิดขึ้นในตอนนี้ ยังไม่จำเป็นต้องฟื้นคืนกลุ่ม กปปส. กลับมาต่อสู้ เพราะมองว่าจะเข้าทางผู้ชุมนุม ที่ยั่วยุให้เกิดภาพความรุนแรง (เมื่อวันที่ 20 ตุลาคม 2563)
